The new found friends walked along the pier under the moonlight. If the area near the lighthouse was dark, the plaza in front of the port was bright and lively. Pop-up stalls lined a portion of the earlier empty area. Musicians were playing on a makeshift stage while a fire breather's performance had the audience in awe.
"Hey Beam! Wait for me!" Forth yelled.
"Hurry up slowpoke!" Beam teased his companion. "Look, there are lots of stalls to check out!", extending his arms to showcase the area.
"Just slow down for a moment will you? I still have my travelling bag with me you know. *huff* *huff*" Forth was out of breath trying to catch up.
"Beam was right, his speed truly compensates for his lack of strength. He moves so fast!" Forth thought. "Gosh! I lost him! Where is he?"
"Over here Forth!" Beam, who was sitting in on of the chairs, waved in front of the stage. "Let's listen to the concert for a while, okay?"
"*huff* *huff* okay... I need to catch my breath anyway." Forth slumped down to the chair beside him with a loud thud as the band finishes their song.
"Hope everyone is having a good time and enjoying our set. Unfortunately, we are down to our last song for this set. We'll have another one later. Again, we are Annallee, Pico, and Alberto, travelling musicians who came all the way from the Dunan Republic! Enjoy our last song!"

A/N: Annallee, Pico, and Alberto are all Stars of Destiny in Suikoden 2. They comprise the music trio of the title.
Annallee started singing in tune with the instruments played by Pico and Alberto. Beam and Forth were overwhelmed by comfortable feelings. The former closed his eyes and envision memories of his family smiling while the latter felt more contented just looking at the person beside him.
"You're so beautiful Beam..." Forth almost said that out loud. "What the fuck am I thinking? He's a man! Well... a beautiful man but... the hell! I just met him! And I..."
Annallee's song ended. Beam opened his eyes and looked at the man beside him. "That was a great song Forth right?" His smile mesmerizing the said man.
"Ughh... yeah..." speechlessly looking at that teasing smile.
"Let's go?" Beam was about to stand up when Forth held his hand.
"You're not going anywhere..." Forth said while he interlaced their fingers. "...far away from me. You'll be just an arm's length's away."
"We're going to be together like this." Raising both their hands. "Remember that someone is still after your life. Though I guess he wouldn't attack with these many people around but you can never be too sure. Understand?"
Beam did not respond, his eyes was fixed on their entwined fingers. Pink tinges appear on the pale man's cheeks.
"Beam? Hello?" Forth waved his free hand on the other's face.
