"Hey Forth! Wait up!" Beam trailed behind me as I took big strides. I figured we need to get away from our currently location because I felt malicious intent coming from out front.
I led us to the Inn. It will be safer there since it's heavily guarded.
Beam clung to my arm when he was able to catch up. "I'm sorry I insisted on the card reading. Please don't be mad. It's just... I find it interesting since it was my first time having my fortune read like that."
"It's okay Beam." We walked along the direction of the Inn silently. I forgo telling him my real reason for walking away so he will not panic.
We finally arrived at our intended destination after taking many detours. It has been a long day. I can't wait to take a bath and finally retire for the night!
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the receptionist. "Hi Pri-Sir Beam! What a lovely surprise! You brought a friend!"
"Hi Louise, I'm back!" Beam greeted the receptionist. "I made a new friend. This here is Forth. He helped me out a little earlier." He big eyed Louise with a little sterness in his voice.

A/N: Louise is a Star of Destiny in Suikoden IV, filling in the role or the barkeeper. You need to talk to her to organize your party.
"Friend huh?" Louise flashed a suspicious teasing smile. "Yet you cling to him like he's not just a friend!"
Beam was surprised and let go of my arm. "Uhhh! It's nothing! I just don't want him to run off again!" He replied with a noticeable reddish tinge on his cheeks.

...wait what?! No! Well he IS cute but...
What?! Why am I saying that Beam is cute?!

"Anyway, he's not just here to accompany me. He's here to book a room... and hurry it up because he's tired from all the travelling." Beam stated in a classy manner. Is he embarassed?
"Really?" Louise replied skeptic. She turned to me as if asking for me to confirm what Beam said.
"Err... it's true. I have some business here in the island but the place where I needed to go was closed already. So I need to spend the night here so I can report in by tomorrow." I scratched my nape while I narrated my side.
"Oh! Okay. Let me check a room for you." She looked at the guestbook intently then returned to me. "Hmmm... it seems our Inn is already fully booked. There were a lot of passenger vessels who came in today..." her voice was filled with regret.
"Oh... that's alright." I looked at Beam. "I guess, it's served me right to wander around first before I came here."
"I'm sorry Forth. It's my fault. I had you join me around the island and now you have no place to stay for the night." Beam had his head down sounding apologetic.
