9 | Not a lucky day

[Anna]

After I finished getting ready I left for work.

I was feeling different. I felt more confident walking down the street in my new dark blue dress and cute black sneakers.

I guess the talk with Namjoon had actually helped.

I had to go over some plans for Catherine, who was back (thank god). She was out with BTS for an interview and I was in the office.

I didn't mind the work behind the curtain and was fine with doing my job at the office.

I was reading a file when my phone went off.

I thought I had silenced it before I started work, but I guess I hadn't.

I looked at the lit screen and saw a notification from BigHit.

It was a text from Namjoon, thanking me for yesteday as well and apologizing for falling asleep. He ended it with a time and a place to meet again.

I answered with a simple see ya and went back to work with a new kind of energy.

He truly was a great leader.

We left the hotel at 10 and went straight to an interview.

Namjoon looked very relaxed and had a kind of calmness to him that he didn't have the day before.

Naturally, I asked him how come that he was not tired at all.

"I had a great talk with Anna yesterday. She is a really good listener and I got a lot off my chest." He explained, looking at the moving buildings our car passed by.

I felt a spark of a feeling I hadn't known I could feel again.

Was it jealousy?

"Oh, really? You talked with her. When?" I hoped he didn't notice my voice shaking a bit.

Then he looked at me. "After our little get together yesterday, we went to my room and ordered dinner and just talked. She needed someone to talk to real bad. So did I."

I was a little hurt, "why don't you talk to me and tell me what's bothernig you, hyung?"

Having seen the hurt in my eyes he quickly assured me, "it's not that I can't talk to you, but that she is a new set of ears and she could give a different and fresh opinion on my troubles. We all know what another member means when we talk about our problems, but Anna doesn't and I wanted to hear what she had to say."

When I still didn't smile back at him, he took my hand and told me he loved me and now I grinned hard.

He rarely showed his affection and it reminded me how much he cared about me.

For the rest of the ride I kept thninking about what they could have talked about. I didn't want to ask Joon, he had already a lot on his mind and I didn't want to waste his time.

I closed my eyes, still tired from the morning workout.

I couldn't had been sleeping for more than 15 minutes, when Joon shook my shoulder and asked me massage his neck.

"Thank you so much JungKook-ah. My neck is so sore from last night. I don't even remember when we fell asleep." Said RM, with his eyes closed.

I stopped in my tracks. "We?"

What was happening?

"Oh, right. Anna slept over. We fell asleep during out conversation, my neck hurts, because I fell asleep in a weird position," he explained.

That was a surprise way too early in the morning.

"Seriously? She slept in your room. Just like that?" Was she not who I had imagined her to be?

"Stop freaking out," Joon said, wanting to tease me, "we just talked." He made an effort to strongly emphasize the word just.

It wasn't anything like that I had been worrying about. I knew he was way to responsible to ever do anything like that.

It was the fact that she talked to him about her problems, he was the one, who got to know her better. That was the reason why I was jealous.

We arrived to the interview and I was hoping to see her there.

But it was not my lucky day.

It was only her boss who was with us the whole day.
