"Malice dear? Time to come out." Queen Marzacre said, knocking on Malice's bedroom door. "You've been in there all morning."

Malice emerged, already in her black jeans and vest and a dreamy smile on her lips, she moved down the hall as though she was walking on a cloud.

"Are you feeling alright?" The queen asked with a suspecting smirk.

"Never better, Marzacre." Malice replied, spinning around on the spot to face her with a slight curtsy just as Die came walking past her, looking bewildered.

"Morning, Die~." She sighed happily, continuing down the hall with a spring in her step.

The king looked at his wife with his brow furrowed, expecting answers.

"She's got it bad," Marzacre chuckled.

"What?" Die asked. "What has she got?"

"Isn't it obvious, Innamorato?" She giggled. "Malice is in love~."

He blinked at her, before turning around to face where the younger demon had been.

"Malice? In love?"

"Okay. So far, so good." Kill breathed as he paced back and forth along the palace garden while Malice lay flat across a stone bench with her arms behind her head.

"I don't think the king knows. But it will not be easy keeping something like this a secret for long..."

"I've got to see him again...tonight! It shouldn't be hard to find out where he lives." Malice said aloud, catching Kill's attention as she got to her feet.

"Malice! Stop talking crazy and get your head out of the clouds!" Kill groaned, grabbing fistfuls of his hair.

"It shouldn't be that hard to find him..." She mused heading back towards the palace, ignoring him completely. "Anti is pretty good at-"

"Malice..." He exasperated, hurrying a head of her to place both hands on her shoulders. "Listen to me. The human world - it's a mess. Humans are barely able to survive without-"

"Mal!"

They looked up to see Anti glitching towards them with a massive grin on his face.

"Teleport us to your room, I've got something to show you!" He said, holding out his hand to her while Kill looked as though he was about to have a stroke.

"Okay," Malice said, before they both disappeared in a flash of teal.

"Somebody has to nail that girl's feet to the floor..." Kill sighed.

"Kill? Kill!"

Kill looked up to see a demon woman with short black hair hurry up to him.

"I've been looking everywhere for you."

"What is it Pamick?" He asked.

"It's King Die. He wants to see you right away- it's about Malice."

"Oh no..."

♚♚♚♚♚

"Let's see, now..." King Die pondered, tapping at his chin as he sat at his throne. "Who could the lucky demon be?"

He was pulled from his thoughts when Kill stumbled into the room, white-er in the face.

"Ah, Kill. Just the man I wanted to see." Die grinned, motioning for him to come closer. "I'm... distracted about Malice's behavior. Have you noticed she's been acting...peculiar lately?"

"P-peculiar, Sire?" Kill squeaked.

"You know...moaning about, daydreaming, smiling to herself?" He prompted. "You haven't noticed?

"Um..."

"Kill," The king said in a warning tone. "I know you've been keeping something from me..."

"Keeping...something?" Kill repeated, his voice going a couple of octaves higher.

"About Malice?"

"...Malice?"

"Being in love?"

"I TRIED TO STOP HER, SIRE!" Kill cried, falling to his knees. "But she wouldn't listen! I told her to stay away from humans - they are bad, they are trouble, they -"

"Humans?!" Die growled springing from his throne and grabbing him by the front of his shirt. "What about humans?!"

"Um..."

☘☘☘

"Anti," Malice giggled as he covered her eyes with his fingers. "What's this all about?"

"It's a surprise!" Anti insisted before moving his hands away. "Surprise!"

A gasp escaped her.

An amethyst orb shaped pensieve sat atop of a mahogany table, playing and replaying images of Harry.

"I had my pal ***Death-Wiish transfer my memories into this pensieve for you." He smiled. "It wasn't easy and it can only be made the one time, but now you can see him without having to go to the human world and not having to worry about Die."

Malice looked at him in awe before throwing her arms around him. "Anti, you're the best!"

She placed her elbows against the table, resting her head in her hands as she gazed into the pensieve.

"He's even more handsome than I remember." She sighed happily. "You saw the way he looked at me, Anti. I know it's meant to-"

Malice cut off her sentence when she found the King of Demons glaring at her from her bedroom door while Kill stood behind him, looking guilty.

"Die..." She whispered.

Anti shrank back as Die stepped forward.

"I consider myself a reasonable demon." He said calmly. "I set certain rules, and I expect those rules to be obeyed."

"But Die-"

"Is it true you saved a human from burning to death?"

"He would have died!"

"One less human to worry about!" Die snapped.

"You don't even know him!" Malice spat.

"I don't have to know him! They're all the same. Spineless, savage, filthy vermin, incapable off-"

"Die, I love him!"

The room fell silent at her slip.

Kill and Anti glanced at each other, grimacing.

"No..." Die whispered. "Have you lost your senses completely? He's a human, you're a demon!"

"I don't care." Malice gritted her teeth without looking at him, her arms folded.

"So help me, Malice! I am going to get through to you!" The king bellowed, raising his right hand. "And if this is the only way, so be it!"

A flash of blue light escaped from his palm, hitting the pensieve and causing it to smash into thousands of tiny pieces, making all the demons gasp in shock.

Nobody said a word.

The silence was so thick, it could have been cut with a knife.

Malice's heartbroken stare slowly turned into a glare of hatred towards the king as she disappeared into a flash of teal.

Fun fact: Innamorato means lover or sweetheart in Italian 😉
