Malice had lost track of how much time had passed.
They had been on the ferris-wheel, the drop-tower, the helter-skelter, the swing boat, the ghost train, and the roller-coaster multiple times.
Harry had bought them both a stick of cotton candy as they walked around the grounds. He talked about his life briefly as well as asking basic yes-no questions about herself.
They came across a prize stand filled with multiple stuff animals while a man with a scruffy 5 o'clock shadow leaned against the wall.
He caught Malice looking at the prizes and a large sleazy grin grew on his lips.
"Care to test ya luck and win ya lovely lady friend a prize, mister? All you gotta do is knock the cans down! $2 for 3 tries." The way he spoke made her skin crawl.
Harry glanced at her with an obvious hesitance, making her shrug awkwardly.
"Alright then." He said with a tone of assurance before taking out his wallet.
Malice bit down a grimace, worrying about the outcome. She didn't trust the man as there were too many stuffed animals on display for it to be a fair game.
She turned to Kill and Anti who, to her surprise, had devious smirks on their faces.
"Don't worry, Mal." Anti said, leaping over the counter. "I've got this!"
Raising an eyebrow, Malice could only watch as Harry picked up the first ball and aimed at the stacked cans while the owner of the stand leered smugly.
After the first ball was thrown, Anti caught it with lightening reflexes before smashing it into the cans, making them scatter.
The owner's mouth dropped as did Harry's who clearly had little faith in his accuracy.
"Best 2 outta 3..." He grumbled, re-stacking the shelves.
"Um..." Harry cringed, looking back at Malice who offered him a smile of encouragement while Anti rubbed his hands together with an evil grin.
The second ball was thrown.
Clunk!
Then the third.
Clunk!
The owner let out a faint growl. "Well done, sir. You may choose your prize..."
Beaming, Harry looked at Malice; gesturing her to take her pick.
Malice turned her attention back to the toys on the shelves. There were unicorns, horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, and mice, but what stood out to her was a stuffed turtle with its shell covered with multi-colored sequins.
With a nod, she pointed to it. The owner of the stand pulled it off the shelf with little eagerness, before handing it to her with a grunt.
She grinned a brief look towards Anti before looking up at Harry gratefully as they went on their way.
"We have time to go on one more ride." He said as she admired her new turtle. "How about the boats?"
Malice nodded, hugging the sequined reptile to her chest.
Harry helped her into the boat before sitting down himself as the carnival worker pushed them off down the water current.
The tunnel that the boat floated down was painted a dark blue with silver stars scattered around it while muffled music played in the background.
Anti sat on his heels behind Harry. Kill was nowhere to be seen.
The music suddenly stopped with a record screech, leaving them in total silence for a few moments before a completely different song started to play, clear as day.
Malice looked at Anti who winked at her knowingly as he placed his hands on either side of Harry's head.

For some unknown reason, Harry couldn't take his eyes off the girl across from him. He had only known her for a day, she obviously didn't have a lot to say, but there was something about her.
He took in her long silky chestnut hair and her dark eyes that contrasted perfectly with her cool skin, all illuminated by the silvery glow of the stars as she gazed around the tunnel.
He didn't know why, but he was dying to try and...take her hand and kiss her.
Yes, he wanted her. Looking at her, he knew that he did. It may have been possible that she wanted him too...
Leaning back, Harry cleared his throat; still unable to take his eyes off of her.
"You know..." He began, making her look at him. "I kind of feel bad for not knowing your name..."
She tilted her head, looking intrigued.
"Maybe I can guess it?"
For a brief second, she looked as though she had her attention on something behind him, but he quickly dismissed it when she nodded keenly.
"Okay..." He said, trying to think of a common girl's name. "Is it...Katie?"
She rose an eyebrow, while pulling a face.
"Alright then," Harry laughed. "I guess not...how about...Kathryn?"
She shook her head.
"Mika?"
Nope.
"Rosanna?"
Negative.
"Alice?"
Wrong.
"Amy?"
Malice! Something hissed in his ear. Her name is Malice!
"Malice?" He repeated, turning his head to find the source of the noise before feeling something grab his hand.
He looked back to see the girl grinning at him while nodding her head happily.
"That's your name?" He grinned back, placing his free hand over hers. "That's an unusual name, but I like it."
Her smile brightened.

A new surge of warmth swelled in Malice's chest as he said her name.
Her hand was still enclosed between both of his, making her cheeks burn.
Anti, who had let go of Harry's head, sat back on his heels again as he watched them with a warm smile.
Ever so slowly, she and Harry leaned in towards each other, their eyes locked and their faces mere inches apart.
But just as their lips were about to meet, the boat capsized out of nowhere; throwing them both into the water and making Anti scream in surprise.
"Whoa!" Harry gasped as he got to his feet before assisting Malice as she picked up her sequined turtle.
"Hang on, I've got ya." He said keeping an arm around her so he could guide them both towards the exit of the tunnel, unknowingly leaving Anti behind to grumble a few well chosen words under his breath.
Hidden in the shadows, two demons snickered quietly before fist-bumping each other.
