[A/N: Also updated this chapter too. It's shorter but I kept the main part of the chapter. The content is basically the same but with a little extra if you want to read it over! :) ]
"Pay attention cause I'm only going to go over this once," Mr. S grumbled, walking to the board with a marker in hand. "No questions until the end."
Against both of our will, we were having a makeup session for him to teach me the information I had missed the first half of class. I knew some of it, well just the tail end of it. So I was going to have to actually learn it from him, instead of review it like normal. Did I need the lesson? Though I hated to admit it, yes. Did I want it? Not at all. Especially when Mr. S made it clear that this was the last place he wanted to be when Mr. West brought it up.
"But what if I need clarification on something?" I asked, wondering why he was more grumpy than usual. I got that he didn't want to be here, but even this was excessive.
"What the hell did I just say?" He snapped with a glare. His eyes held more anger than normal and once again I was left wondering what had happened for him to be in such a sour mood. "No questions until the end."
"Okay sorry... I'll just be quiet and try to focus," I mumbled, absentmindedly tapping the end of my pencil against my notebook. A glare from him made me stop and sigh.
After that, Mr. S started in on the lesson. If I wasn't so annoyed with him, I would have admitted he taught well. He naturally spoke pretty slowly so it was easy to keep up with him and he was pretty simple in his explanation. But I was annoyed with him, so I immediately zoned out. Instead, I doodled on the edge of my paper while pretending to take notes. It started off with little things like caligraphy and flowers, but then Mr. S turned and the light hit his face just as his lips pulled up into a rare smile. It was small but it was there and it was enough to entice me.
Before I knew it, I had basically half of his face sketched out. Part of it was rough, I had done a basic outline to figure out what the whole picture would look like. But the other part was coming out to be really detailed and beautiful. Even though he moved around a lot which made drawing him a little more difficult, I was actually pretty happy with how nice it was turning out.
"Daisy! For fucks sake, are you even paying attention?" Mr. S snapped, coming to stand by me. Startled by his yelling, I didn't have time to cover up my drawing before he yanked the notebook off of the desk.
"Hey! Give that back," I protested, scrambling to grab the notebook but he held it up over my head so that I couldn't reach it. He was so childish, but that didn't stop me as I tried jumping up to snatch it from him. But his height combined with his long arms made it impossible for me to reach up that high. "Mr. S give it back!"
"First, and I'm not going to fucking repeat myself, stop calling Mr. S. Second, I think I have the right to see what you were drawing since you were paying way more attention to it than my lessons, which I only had to give since you skipped class yesterday."
