It was finally Halloween

It was finally Halloween. If I wasn't so excited for the photoshoot, I would have grumbled at how early I had to drag myself out of bed. Getting ready was going to take me a while so I woke up a full two hours earlier than normal. I didn't have to be there until 6:30, but I needed time to get dressed and ready. My first outfit would be my actual halloween costume which was the tutu I wore when I played the lead in Cinderella. I had already put out two other outfits on hangers to take, Claire wanted options, but this was the main one I was going to wear.

As I tightened my hair into a flawless, migraine inducing bun, I made sure that the rest of the stuff was ready to go. Extra shoes and outfits, back up tights incase the ones I have on tear, extra hair spray and other hair essentials, towels to wipe off sweat (even though I probably wouldn't need it, it was better to have then not), perfume and deodorant, my dance makeup bag, and a change of normal clothes. Once my dance bag was set, my backpack was ready, and my pointes were secured around my neck, I set off to leave the house.

When I got to school, five minutes before 6:30, the parking lot was nearly empty save for a few cars here and there. As I was getting out, Claire appeared with her assistant, James, in tow to lend me a hand. Both of them were already in their costumes, with Claire dressed like Alice from Alice in Wonderland and James as the rabbit. They reached out their hands to help me with my stuff, so I let them carry my tutus while I brought in my dance bag and backpack.

Once we were inside, we headed to the photography room to set up for the day. While they hung up my tutus, I ran to my locker to put my backpack away and then headed back. She didn't tell me much, since she wanted to keep this mostly a surprise. She insisted that it was for authenticity but I had my suspicions that she was just having fun with it. But she did give me a heads up that she was going to be pulling me out of the middle of my classes and that I probably wouldn't be able to have lunch. I wasn't planning on eating though, because these tutus certainly didn't leave any room for a food baby.

"Alright, so now it's time for the first set of pictures. We're going to take you outside and have you take a few in the middle of the empty parking lot," Claire said after we had everything planned. A few minutes later we were back outside getting ready to grab some outdoor shots. With the school being right on the beach, the glittering of the ocean from the rising sun made for some amazing pictures. "So basically, you can just come up with whatever poses you want. I might ask you to do some specific ones but for the most part it's all you girl."

Smiling, I turned my back to the sunset so that my frame was outlined by the mixing oranges, pinks, and yellows and then put myself in fifth position so that the sun was coming through the hole in my arms.

"Ah. Perfect! Stay just like that!" Claire cooed, moving around me to get the perfect shot. Once she was satisfied, I moved into an attitude derriere.

For the next thirty minutes she moved me from one place to the other, letting me figure out what position would look best as she took my picture. After a while, cars started entering into the parking lot, moving us back inside. The inside of the school was still pretty empty, so Claire decided that, that would be the next place we would set up shop.
