Chapter 12

You chilled with Marshall until Fionna came back. "Man I should've told you-" She starts. Fionna spots Marshall and then looks back at you. "What's up Marshall?" She says. "Nothing just found (Y/N) over here standing in the forest alone, so I thought I might keep her company." He says floating up to a tree branch. "right.." She says poking you in the rib cage. "So where have you been?" You say changing the subject. "oh yeah! I should've just told you to come with me cause it was radical! But I see that you were... PreOccupied."she says smiling. You sigh in defeat that she was never gonna let that go. Sudden you hear a sound from the bushes next to you. Fionna pulls out her sword and runs at it. Cake emerges from the bushes panting. Fionna drops her sword as soon as she sees her. "Cake?" She asked startled. "Hey baby, I got surprise for (Y/N)!" Cake says still catching her breath. "me?" You say surprised. "look-y here baby!" cake says. She pulls out a small glass vile, filled with unfamiliar liquid. You look at her confused. "and it is?" You ask. "Wizard goo." cake says proudly. You, and Fionna exchange looks. Cake sighs. "this is the first thing you need for you to get home, I heard you talking it about it once with Fionna." Cake explains. "oh my glob really? I could go home?" You yelp excited. "HOME?!?" Marshall exclaims. He falls from his place in the sky, landing on the ground hard. "You oka-" you begin to ask. "HOME, What do you mean home? Where's home in Aaa?" He shouts. There was a long awkward pause between all of you. "Not in Aaa." you says looking at the ground. Another pause floated around you. "well... I'll just keep this at the house, Fionna baby would you like to come with?" Cake offers walking in the direction of the house. "yup." Fionna says picking cake up and speed walking off into the bushes. "I knew you couldn't be from around here, but how far are we talking about?" Marshall asks without removing his eyes off you. You kick at the ground in sudden twisted tongue at your past. You explain what happened and your confusion on how you even stumbled upon this place. He stared empty into you with sorrow filled eyes. "I guess that means pretty far."He says sighing, leaning against a tree. He looks up at you before pushing off the tree. Marshall gently reaches for your hand. "But this means you can choose to stay."He says grabbing ahold of your hand and intertwining his fingers into yours. You loved being there with him. His fingers with yours. Acting as one. But memories of your family and friends cloud your thoughts. You look down your feet. "I can't stay here forever, even if I wanted to. I have another life just waiting for me, at home." you say returning your eyes to him. You feel his hand tighten slightly before releasing. "Well, see if I care if you do." he says slightly frowning then placing a kiss on your cheek. Just the touch of his lips flushes your cheeks with a light shade of pink. "Just.. think about it...please." he says quietly. He floats up, through the leaves and out of site.
