Soulmates (In this story Clint does not have a family and Laura and the children do not exist)

He feels her stalking closer up behind him and he waits. He waits for the right moment and just as she raises her hands to put him under her spell he strikes. Sticks that arrow right between her eyes and she freezes. 

"Done the whole mind control thing not a fan." he proclaims coldly. 

Her eyes widen even more if possible as she feels the mark behind her right ear burn to life. She was going to speak but then snapped her mouth shut upon coming to the realization that she was about to hurt her soulmate in unimaginable ways. She didn't deserve him. Not one bit. At least that's what was running through her head. 

Then just before she faints a streak of blue flashed into view and before she knew it she was outside. Brother leaning down over her. But the only thing running through her mind was that they were wrong. She knew her soulmate was a good person so they must be wrong. On the wrong side. Wrong about their revenge. Just plain wrong. 

She leans forward head in her hands and thinks. Thinks of a way to make it right. Make it up to her soulmate.. To her brother. To everyone she had failed. And then she could vanish. 

Nobody wanted her anyway. She wasn't good enough for her soulmate. She dragged her brother down with her. She let her country down. Everything was her fault. 

So she does the only thing that will allow her time to regroup. Takes her brother and runs. 

They stop at the church. She explains everything to him. Apologizes over and over again and her just holds her. Promises not to leave like she wants him to like she needs him to. To keep him safe. Away from her. Away from her chaos. 

But he doesn't. Her tells her he's not leaving and that they will figure it out together. And they do. 

They already know Ultrons plan. They are right where the core was so they wait. Wait for him to show. Wait for him so that they can end it. Fix what she ruined. So that everyone else is safe. 

They call shield to. Explain everything. Tell them that they need to get everyone out now so they can stop it with no casualties. Tell them not to contact the Avengers. She doesn't want HIM anywhere near here because she knows he'll come if they come. 

And shield listens. They send carriers and trucks and planes to get everyone off. They move everyone out as fast as possible. No Ultron yet. A good sign for them. They keep moving. 

Finally the people are all gone. They check every place to make sure no one is left and nobody is. Its just them now. 

She sighs. The people are safe. 

But then it happens. The fight. Armies of robots show up. Ultron front and center. They can see the smirk on his metal face. She begs one last time for her brother to run. Leave her and get to safety and once again her refuses. Tells her they are in this together.

So they turn towards the battle that faces them ahead and march forward. 

Clint on the other hand watches as her brother grabs her and runs her outside. Leaving the arrow he used on the ground. He sighs and goes back to the fight. 

The never reappear though and he wonders. Not that he cares though one less worry for him.  Only Ultron left now. 

They reappear in the jet later. Bruce tells them the boy took the girl and ran away. Doesn't know where they are now.
