It seemed like feeling proud of himself made Flug more productive.
Why's that, you might be asking? Well, because right now the Doctor was walking to his room, knowing very well it's fairly late. Usually he would be fairly tired by now, but today's an exception. Today truly was an unusual day for Flug, the other days being somehow way calmer and more beneficial to his science work, - though that's not really surprising, considering his new patient. The point is, the staff member had something to be proud of and a reason to feel worthy and confident.
But speaking of Flug's science work, he would love to get something done right now. He didn't have any requests yesterday, but he didn't check at all today, so there's a high chance of some possible work waiting for him. This fact made the Doctor's mood even better - he will probably have something to do with all his sudden energy!
Come to think of it, it'll probably make his mood even better - after all, he loved science. Psychology was really complicated and entertaining for him, and with such degree it's easier to find a job than with a science degree, but now Flug realized that he absolutely loved science. And planes.
Eventually all these thoughts leaded to our beloved scientist remembering all his life decisions and thus getting a bit sadder, but in the end he couldn't let his past choices bring him down. He was more than happy with his life now - at least he had a good paying job and an interesting hobby that gave him money too. The remaining part of his path was way more comfortable because of Flug cheering himself up. And as a bonus it was fast. You know what they say - time flies by easily when your mood is good.
Once he got to his door, he was practically jumping with excitement, ready to see if there's any new orders. At this point, all his thinking lead to him believing that there should be a new order for him. Positive thinking had it's cons.
And so for this reason he was extremely harsh and distracted when he took off his med coat while still not in the room and opened the door in front of him. The other parts of his routine went as fast.
He ended up in his bedroom, taking his laptop out of the locker it was stored in and slowing down a bit, not wishing to somehow brake the thing. He carefully placed it on the table, starting it up, still trying to be patient but failing miserably, as he rubbed his hands with his elbows on the desk.
The startup seemed incredibly slow to him. Though once the laptop was on Flug didn't even react immediately, at first deep in his positive thoughts. But it didn't take him too long to finally realize that he doesn't need to wait any more. His excitement came back to him as he clicked his way through to finally check his mail.
Remember about positive thinking having it's cons? Well, what a surprise, there weren't any unread requests for the bored scientist. He was still for a couple of seconds, hesitating to believe in this tragedy. His disappointment was immeasurable and his day was ruined.
But wait! He hasn't ran out of options yet!
He checks his spam box as a last resort and, frustratingly enough, finds nothing. But, unable to face his defeat, he returns to the inbox section and refreshes the page.
Again, seconds flow tormentingly slow as the page goes blank, and Flug is about to drop all his hopes, closing his eyes in a praying manner...
But a miracle is to happen. As text appeared on the screen once again, the Doctor opened his eyes slightly, peaking, only to see a new mail and a notification about it. He clenched his fists, throwing them up in the air in a cheerful mood and jumping out of his chair. Once he landed, he got his hands back on the laptop's keyboard, realizing how much of a drama queen he was being, but deciding not to think about it any longer, excited for the order.
