"Sometimes you have to push each other to see whether they will fight for you."

After Diwali my bond with Adhvik grew stronger. We didn't let other's harmless teasing or smiles get into our friendship.

We are friends. And both of us are happy at the place where we are, right now.

We didn't discuss anything but both of us decided to give ourselves some time.

We didn't want to rush into anything, and I was still in the process of figuring out my life.

It was middle of another week and my life fell into a routine which I could manage.

It was time that I fully transformed from the world of corporates from my old job to a realm of realities at the centre.

I was doing something which would give me peace of mind if not anything else. And at any given time, I would rather choose peace of mind over the bubbles created by numbers and investments.

"Sria, invite Adhvik for dinner this weekend." I was in call with maasi.

"Maasi! Why should I? "

"Sria, he is a friend of yours and Aditi's boss. And from whatever I have heard from both of you. He is a good guy and I want to meet him. You guys do bring your friends at times. So consider this one of those times."

"But that was back in college."

"So what? I asked you to bring your friends after that too. But you didn't. I just want to meet him. You are acting as if I am taking your rishta to him."

"Maasi!" She could be really stubborn when needed. "You can meet him some other time. But dinner?"

I just felt it was our personal time. We did bring few of our friends for dinner. But that was because those few were really close.

I also knew then that Adi's family wanted to assure themselves about my whereabouts. They were looking out for me.

But this time I felt they were rushing into something.

"Seriously Sria!?! Just bring him." She was exasperated.

"He may be busy in the weekend." I tried to reason.

"No he isn't. Aditi checked it." Her voice was stern.

"Oh yes!Adi! She can invite him. She sees him more often too." I wanted to divert the focus from me but of course, she had a reply.

"No she can't. He is her boss not friend."

"Okok! I will ask him. Happy?" I knew there was no way out.

"Very!"

"Maasi..you know that there's nothing else going on, right?"

"I know. But it doesn't stop me from hoping." She continued, "However this time just bring him as your friend. I would have even invited Rose and Sneha but we met them last week in the cafe, right? So maybe some other time."

"OK! I got you. I will ask him in the evening and inform you. And maasi don't forget..."

She interrupted before I could complete, "That tomorrow your article is going to get published in the newspaper? We won't forget. Its a big step for you and we are all excited to give you a detailed review."

"Thank you Maasi. See you later."

"Bye Sria!"

We hung up.

This was what make family special. However small a step you might take, they would be there to push you forward.

It was just the local newspaper, that would publish my article the next day. But these small steps matter a lot to me and so to
