Amy's pov

It has been 48 hours and I don't have the necklace. I sent my team to him, they will be doing my light work for me.

"You have an invite in the mail," Greg said, handing it to me.

I took the envelope, opening it.

Dear Amy Nelson:

We are writing to you to inform you about your invitation to this year's black and white dance! Just like always, you must wear a mask to get in. The party is at the same place as it always is at the same time. We hope to see you there!

      The Council

"Oh great, another party." I tossed the invite on my desk.

"Are you going to go?"

"Of course! I am just tired of going to these things. The invite said to wear black or white. Since when do I follow the rules?" I laughed as I called Raven.

She picked up on the second ring.

"Hello?"

"Raven, I need a dress made."

"I already have one ready for you, it's red and has a hip-high slit."

"You have outdone yourself, ship it to me and I will pay you double."

"Will do!"

I ended the call.

"Looks like I have a party to get ready for," I said, looking at Greg.

"What about the necklace?"

"I will figure something out." I waved him off.

********* *****the night of the party****************

"Amy, you look marvelous," Greg said as I walked down the steps.

"Thank you, Greg, I just need the finishing touch."

I picked up the box from the bottom of the steps that had my mask in it. I open it up, looking at the black mask. As I picked up the mask, the crystals sparkled in the moonlight.

"Your mother would be so proud to see you wearing that," Greg said.

"This mask has been in our family for years, it has finally made its way to me. It's very heavy but it is an honor to wear it."

"It looks like glass."

"It feels like it."

I clipped it into place using my hair then looked into the mirror. I looked like a badass bitch.

Perfect.

When I got to the dance, I saw that I am the only one not wearing white or black. Stupid rule followers.

"Can I offer you a drink?" A tall male came up to me, almost having to yell from how loud the music was.

"I just got here and you're already trying to get me drunk." I shook my head then walked away from him. As I walked away I was able to smell just how much booze is here.

Too much.

"I should have known there would be one rule-breaker," Gretchen said way too loud to her wanna-be friends.

"At least my mask works. Your dress is so ugly, Gretchen. Did you really think wearing a bridal dress here was smart? It's so fluffy, do you have a dog hidden in there?"

Her mouth hit the floor as she ran off with her wannabes trailing behind her.

"Bye!" I called out to her.
