The Deal

Amy's pov

***************one year later****************

I walked down the steps of our home into the dinning room, Mark was downstairs in our "workspace" making sure that the plan for him and a few friends goes as planned. I looked at the pictures we have on the wall, when we got away from Maca we moved to this huge city 500,000 miles away. We blended in making ourselves look like the everyday couple. Mark has a job at the local wine yard picking grapes to make wine, as I work at a daycare down the street from his job. It is perfect! We kept our names the same but we stayed in a little circle.

"There is my beautiful angel." Mark said as he came up the steps, he closed the door leading down the steps.

"How are you?" I asked as I walked over to him.

"I just got an email from Tyler, he says that Maca has a son who wants nothing to do with his father's life choices."

"That's good, one less brat we will have to deal with."

He pulled me into his arms holding me tight saying low in my ear,

"Maca died in that fire, his son is too scared to do anything to us. Plus, everyone thinks that we have died."

"I know, and I am thankful that the brat decided to get out of this lifestyle, but I am just worried that he will find out that I am the one who killed his dad. It is in his blood to get revenge."

"Yeah, but if he is too chicken to join us, then he is too chicken to do anything." He kissed the top of my head.

"This is true."

"The plan is all set up for tonight, while you are at work doing the sleepover for the kids, myself and some of the crew will be hitting the hot spots in town. Then we will take our findings to the storage unit and I will come back here."

"As always be careful."

"I will." He covered my face in his kisses making me laugh.

He helped me get ready for the sleepover packing my bags.

"Tell the kids I said hi." He laughed as we walked to my car.

"I will, you have fun." I winked at him.

He pulled me in for a heated kiss.

"Get a room!" Cindy laughed as she walked over to her side of the bushes in the yard.

"Hi Cindy." I laughed as I snuggled into Mark.

"You two are so cute! I wish my kids will find love just like yours. How are you two?"

"We are good." Mark said.

"I have to go to work tonight." I said pouting my lip.

"Awe, how sad." Cindy said, "But I bet the kids are happy."

"Yeah, we are having a sleepover so that will be fun. We will be doing some arts and crafts, making tents and watching some movies. The kids will have so much fun." I smiled.

"Mark is going to have the whole house to himself!" Cindy said laughing.

"Yeah, maybe I will have a little party or I will just watch a bunch of tv." He smiled as I looked up at him, when we made eye contact he winked at me making me smile.

"Whatever you do just please make sure you clean up after yourself." I giggled.

"Of course." He kissed the top of my head. "As much as I want you to stay here with me, you need to get to work."

"I know, I will be back around noon." I pouted at him.

He pulled me in for another kiss then helped me into the car. When I got to the daycare I set up all the stuff for the sleepover.

Mark's pov

I waited until it was dark out then snuck out of the house, Cindy is so noisy that I need to make sure that she doesn't see me come out of the garage. But I could just say that I am sneaking over to Amy's work and seeing her.

Once I got to the meeting place the rest of the team was there.

"Look who finally showed up." Greg said laughing as I got out of the car.

"Stupid Cindy." I muttered.

"I think she has the hots for you."

"Well she is no Amy so she can suck it."

"I think the day you find someone else hot is the day the world will end."

I just shook my head at them then walked into the shack.

"So we are going to hit the small shops now, and then in a few hours we will go for the bigger one." I said as they followed.

We got into a different set of cars then went out.

After four hours we had a nice set up of stolen items and cash.

"I think we should cold down for a bit, why don't you guys take all of this stuff and put it away." I said as we returned back to the shack. "Meet back here in three hours and we will hit one more place then call it a night."

The crew nodded their heads yes then headed to the warehouse.

I got back in my everyday car and headed to the local pizza shop.

"There he is!" Vinny said in his thick italian voice.

"Hey, how are you?" I asked walking up to the counter.

"Business is slow."

"Well, you are about to get a big order, I am taking pizza to the daycare for the kids, I need 10 large pizzas, 15 orders of cheese sticks, let's do one each of the 2 liters of pop and throw 8 orders of bacon cheese fries in there."

"Mark, you are my lifesaver!" Vinny's smiles was from ear to ear. "This will help me pay for my little girl's softball gear! I would hug you but I need to get your food in!" He rushed to the back of the shop and started on my order.

I took a seat in the corner looking at the news, so far no one has noticed that we hit those spots. They should notice the stuff if missing in the morning. It took Vinny and his cooks two hours to make everything, I paid for it then loaded it in the car.

"Hello." I said walking in with a few boxes of pizza.

"Mark!" Amy's smile lit up when she saw me.

"I brought in some food! I have more in the car but this is all I am able to carry right now."

"We can help!" A couple of the kids said.

"It's too late for you to be outside, how about I bring the food in here and you can help Miss. Amy put the food out."

"Okay!"

"Mark, you are so sweet." Amy said after all the food was in.

"Well, I did miss you."  I smiled as she gave me a hug.

"I missed you too, how is Vinny doing?"

"Well, this order helped him buy Sofia her softball stuff."

"Awe, he is not doing good in business. We will have to do a fundraiser and have him in on it. We can give him the money for his family,"

"See, you're not a horrible person." I laughed.

"Makes for a great cover." She winked at me.

"Speaking over cover, one more hit tonight when I leave."

"Watch out, the cops have been driving passed here a lot."

Right on cue a cop car flew past us making the kids run to the window trying to see if they can see what is going on.

"Maybe I will call it off and keep what we have." I said low.

"Stay with us, we need a big strong man here to protect us from the scary cop action outside." Amy pouted then smiled.

I pulled her into my arms then said, "I will keep you and the kids safe."
