Amy's pov

Today is the day I get to see my old land. Since I am dead, it is now the city's but it is still sad to come here.

"Answer this for me." Mark said, walking over to me. He is dressed in gray sweatpants with a plain white shirt, his long hair in hidden in a black beanie.

"What's up?" I hopped onto the island with a cup of coffee in my hand.

"You have a safe house that not even your crew knows about, why did you tell me that you had nowhere to go?" His voice is cold, he thinks I lied to him.

"It is under the house that is now a pile of ash. I had it built twelve feet under the ground with a hidden door in the wall. Alarms cover the door so I know if it is being opened. No one set them off so I know it is hidden well."

His face softened as he asked, "Do you think it is still there?"

"Hard to say. I plan on going down when we get there."

"Lot of people are still there."

"Why?"

"They are trying to clean up."

"No! They might throw out something I want to keep."

"Then we need to go."

I chugged my coffee then jumped off of the island. We rushed to the car and drove over to my land.

"How can we get these assholes to leave?" I asked.

"Stay in the car."

Mark got out of the car and walked to the people.

"Why are you here?" He asked them.

The male closest to him lost all color in his face as he talked. I wasn't able to hear him, but Mark's voice came out loud and clear.

"You need to leave, the city hasn't bought shit so all of you are stealing. I don't take kindly to people stealing from my friends."

They all dropped what was in their hands and rushed to the truck.

"Stop." Mark's voice boomed through the trees, some of the birds left their nest. "Put all of that back."

They hurried up and took my stuff out of their truck and put it on the ground.

"Now leave." Mark said.

They all ran into the truck, speeding off of the land.

I got out of the car and walked over to him.

"Thank you." I said as I knelt down to pick up a photo book. "Mom put this together for me when I finished high school."

"There will be a truck here in a few for you to put anything you wish to keep in it. I will have it stored."

"Thank you." I smiled looking up at him.

We walked around the ashes, some things have been saved others, I don't even know what it was. I picked up parts of my floor to show the hole leading to the safe house.

"Are you sure this is safe?" Mark asked.

"No."

"Stay here."

He went into his car and got a few things.

"Put this on." He handed me a gas mask.

"Thanks."

Once we both had our masks on ,we went down the steps, twelve feet down into the ground.

"Are we going to be able to get anything from here?" He asked when we finally reached the door.
