"Tina!"

Newt's voice echoed through the trees of the Brazilian rainforest. What he got for an answer was a strange choking sound, and Tina's muffled screaming. It wasn't a pretty sight what he saw next.

A Lethifold.

Surrounding Tina, while trying to essentially consume her inside it's big black sheet. Knowing exactly what to do, he mustered up all of his courage, and searched his mind for his happiest memory. After a few seconds he chose the one where he was showing Tina all of his creatures, and he tried to invision her eyes, filled with wonder and excitement. She was the only other person in the world that he could think of that loved the creatures as much as him. Mustering up all of his courage and thinking,

This is for Tina.

Wand facing the Lethifold, he bellowed at the top of his lungs,

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

And at that moment, a silver, magical rodent was conjured from his wand. Squinting his eyes to see what the small, spilky animal was, his cheeks went bright red. His patronus was no more than...

A porcupine.

The small creature ran towards the Lethifold, and the black sheet flicnhed, blinded by the light that was Newt's patronus. Aborting it's deadly mission, it decided that Tina's small body wasn't a very good catch, it slowly creeped away from her. Tina took in a large intake of breath, and silently was relived she wasn't just swallowed alive. She suddenly felt the exact opposite of relieved when she saw the Lethifold now letvitating its way towards Newt.

"Oy! Pea brain!" She screamed, attempting to distract the beast, but her efforts were ignored, so she did the only other thing she could think of. Thinking of the prospect that Newt might possibly love her, and she fantasized about them being together... One day.

Do it for Newt. She thought, making her feel stronger that she actually did, and pointed her wand at the beast, she yelled,

"Expecto! Patronum!"

And her patronus emerged from her wand.

It was a porcupine.

It bolted towards the beast, and it looked like the Lethifold had finally admitted defeat.

Tina had thought that Newt's patronus was long gone, but nevertheless it came sprinting back over to fight off the black sheet. It looked like two patrounuses were too much for the Lethifolds, and it quickly detatched itself from the chokng wizard, and it floated away into the distance, never to be seen again.

Newt's legs then gave way, sending him sailing into the leaf covered ground. He was going purple in the face from lack of air, and Tina ran over to him. He was spluttering and appeared to be choking on air. She sunk to the ground and lay opposite him, their noses almost touching. Tina rested her hand on his back and intertwined their other fingers.

Tina and Newt both looked into the distance. What they could see was the most joyous sight.

Their patronuses were playing together, were chasing each others spiky tails. The two porcipines ran together, into the distance, before vanishing into thin air. Newt and Tina were grinning from ear to ear. Love was sprinkled throughout the air surrounding them. And they turned to admire each other for a few seconds. Tina looked deeply into his eyes, like pools of greeny ocean water, then moved her gaze to his no longer purple face, and stared at his freckles. They were so close, she could almost count them if she wanted to. A small smile spread across her face, she was so relieved that both of them were still alive.

It was so beautiful. The birds singing, the glistening sun filtered through the bright green trees sheltering them from the wind, and pretty flowers were strewn across he rainforest. The intense smell of damp, earthy moss tickled his nose. But to Newt, nothing would be more beautiful than the person laying in front of him. He reached out his fingers to touch her soft hair, and Tina rested her hand on his dirt smudged cheek. Newt was the one to break the silence.

"Tina..." He rasped, and he was so close to her that she could feel his hoarse breath on her nose.

"We almost just got killed, and we've almost been killed multiple times, and I'm just so worried that I'm going to... Lose you." He whispered.

"Same... I mean... You're my best friend, and I just can't bear the thought of losing you too," she confessed.

"And... I um... What I'm trying to get at is that... If I die," he paused and wet his lips.

"I don't want to die knowing that you don't know this."

A beat as Tina's gaze morphed into a look of curiosity and slight confusion.

"Tina... I don't know how to say this but... I - I..."

He braced himself for what he was about to say.

"I may fancy you... just a smidge,"

Tina's expression changed from curiosity to shock.

"I mean...uh-um... Youprobablydontfeelthesamewayand

momentifistsawtyou," Newt rushed out in one nervous breath, his face filled with embarrassment and humiliation, and a crimson blush was spread across his face.

Staring straight into his green eyes, she finally said the words she had been longing to say for years.

"I love you too, Newt,"

"You... You do?" He asked, his heart rate accelerating as he pulled her even closer to him, so that their noses were slightly touching.

"I do love you. Very much. I have for a very, very long time," She confessed, her cheeks also feeling hotter than usual.

"May I... May I ki-kiss y-you?" Newt managed to stutter out, his hands now shaking.

Tina's response to this question was the best thing he could have asked for. She responded by reaching her timid hand up to run them across his tender lips, and whispering,

"Oh, Newt. Don't bother asking! Now, kiss me you fool!"

"I uh? Really?"

"Oh for goodness sake," she said playfully, a wide grin plastered on her face. She then leant forward, slightly tilted her head, and closed the small gap in between them. They both melted into the kiss, and Tina grabbed his mud stained shirt eagerly. Newt gingerly placed his hands on her neck, deepening the kiss. They had both forgotten where they were, forgotten that they were in a Brazilian rainforest, forgotten that they were lying in a damp pile of leaves.

Nothing else mattered at that moment, except for them and the passionate love they shared at that tender moment.

Breaking apart for a small breath of air, Tina simply mused,

"I love you, so much, Newton,"

"You are my everything, Tina. I love you more than life itself," He replied, shyly smiling.

"Please always be by my side?" Tina asked, kissing him again.

"Always," said Newt.

A/N:

Hehe, some deep Newtina fluff for y'all 😏

Sorry for not updating, I've been super tied up with just life... Especially my riding and my horse, but that should be over soon though.

I got this idea off a headcanon I read on Tumblr, and on that note, my friend and I wrote some Newtina headcanons while sitting behind our school hall, so I'll probably share them in the next chapter.

Anyways, what are your thoughts on this chapter?

I actually like it, which is weird because I never really like my own writing lol.

Anyways, gotta fly, so I'll see you all later!

PS: this Lenny face is an accurate representation of Newt in salamander eyes. Your welcome.
