Dedication to Rob Thier for the amazing Victorian age book, "Storm and Silence". It is quite rare to see an author in these days to be able to show courtesy in the language of the Victorian age. His work might've not been an inspiration for my work, but it indeed was a penny for my thoughts.

RECAP

"No, Naina. This girl has made our son blind in her love. Look at him, I mean he is not himself anymore. He used to call me everyday before, but now I don't even get a simple text. This girl is trouble, every inch of her screams that she is a GOLD-DIGGER.  And I shall not allow my son to marry someone like her" He continued.

"Wait, wait, wait, you really think I am a gold digger?" I asked standing up.

"I think I just said that." he replied. I turned to Paul, he did not meet his eyes to mine. Rather he was looking at his father, making no effort to help me. Irritated I ask.

"Paul what do you think?"

"I knew you were after my money all this time. I mean look at you, why else would a girl like you be with me. I never had thought of you as one, but I guess you are. And I think you always tried to be indifferent just to catch my eye." He said, with no glitch on his face and sighed angrily. He didn't a bit resemble the Paul from the morning. His words had an instant effect on me.

"Pfft... So much for simply ignoring you through college. This girl had been indifferent, not to catch your eye but to be stopped being bullied. I didn't go to MIT to end up marrying a guy and be his trophy wife, I went there to learn more about my passion and work for what I dreamed off. And it was I who chose to work at a low salary. It is not like I didn't have any other offers. And actually there were some jobs which would actually pay better than your salary. Also, I was on top of my class if you have forgotten." I shouted at him.

Somehow, his face seemed incorrigible right now. It felt like he never loved me. Tears started to prick in my eyes.

"You are just counter-attacking what I said.  But you did not deny that you are not gold-digger now." Paul stated, keeping his cool. His eyes held a puppy dog expression which turned into a cool face whenever Mr. White looked up at him. But his words refused to change. It was like it was all planned. He had planned to dump me, when we were so close to being 'us'.

"James and Paul, apologize to the young lady. NOW." Naina spoke out at last, stomping her foot in rage. "One thing I won't tolerate in this house is insulting a respectable lady."

"Respectable Naina? No Naina, this girl is hardly respectable. She is a slut. I wonder with how many guys has she cheated on our son. She might look innocent but I can see the girl behind this calm. I've been hiring employees for years, and I can recognize a person's personality at a glance. So no, I won't apologize, when my claim is correct. "

She now looked up at Paul expectantly. He was sweating furiously under the glare, yet some how squeaked it all out, "No ma. That is so not possible. I mean look at her, she didn't even deny. "

Seeing that she is getting no reply out of them now, she moved out of the room, looking up at me apologetically.

"Before you go out Naina, look at these pictures, these were sent to me by post.  I think this would change your thoughts." Old Man said. She turned on her heels and came up to him. He removed some photographs from his pocket. My curiosity was perked up now. I stood on my tip toes to see.

Naina's face changed to that of shock. It was like she was like she could trying not to believe but the proof was in front of her. I peeped in and ...OOOOO.
