"Thank you Rajat, this information is very precious for me." I thanked him. "There is no need to thank me. It's our motto remember, 'all for one, one for all'." He said raising his hand up in a very un-musketeerish way.

"That is not our motto. Our motto is 'Think up, Sky is Just the Lower Limit'. "  I said laughing at his poor attempt. He scowled

"By the way where is Marcus? I saw he's not at office today. As far as I know that man would cross the seven oceans under a big blizzard just to make it to the office." I asked.

"He's gone to his daughter's school." Diana said. I looked up, she was standing at the door with a stack of files. "Do you know why?" I asked furrowing my brows. "Something about his daughter's first piano recital and him not wanting to miss it." She said placing the files over my mouth, "Here, these are the portfolios of the companies interested in our partnership deal."

"Well, thank you Diana." I said. "Oh! When will you stop being so formal? Come on... I mean look at us, we are practically a family." She remarked.

"People in a family don't date each other." I smirked.

"Touché." She remarked and moved out of the cabin and Rajat followed close behind her. I sighed as they left. Time for some work now, I thought rubbing my hands together in anticipation.

The next three hours faded into thin air as I was deeply engrossed in the portfolios. The lawyer had dropped by and I had given him the list compiled by Rajat.

Suddenly, in the middle of my work, 'I Predict a Riot' by Kaiser Chiefs blared into the background, causing me to jump up and topple down on the floor along with the chair.

"Oww..." goddamn it, "...Ouch! This hurts," I gasped as I fell over my burnt back. I slowly got up and searched for my phone through the hordes of papers on my desk. Finding it, I picked it up.

"Hello." I greeted. "Hey Lou," the voice at the other end said. Confused, I asked, "May I know who is this?"

"You might wanna save my number as your oh-so amazingly subtle tormentor." The voice said again. Tormentor... tormentor ... torment.. oh booyah! I recognized who that person was, "What do you want Paul?"

"Be ready by seven, we are going out for dinner." He said.

"What makes you think. that you can order me around, 'tormentor'?" I said, putting emphasis on the word 'tormentor'.

"And the Lou, I know is back." He exclaimed, "You see, I promised Aaron that we are all going for dinner outside. Him, you and me. So please, without much argument get ready by seven. I'll pick you up."

"You've not told him. You are saying so that I would come out with you, so forget about it." I said with surety. "Oh Lou,you know me so well. But if you bail out I will tell him, and I know you are not immune to him being at stake so, you better say yes."

The nerve of him, he actually thinks he can blackmail me, "No, I am not coming. Do what you wanna do, but I have taken my decision." With that, I cut out the phone.

Gosh, this guy is so obstinate. I've actually started thinking that he thinks the world revolves around him. What does he think about himself? Ergh... why am I thinking about him. Leave my head dickhead ... sexy dickhead... a voice in my head said.

Whatever... I drowned myself in the portfolios again.

"Here Diana, I am done looking through them. I have shortlisted a few, but I'll give my final decision by day after tomorrow." I said handing her the files, " But I want you to check if any of these companies have dark secrets, because I want a transparent relation. Okay?"

"Okay." She nodded.

"Okay." I repeated looking at her.

"Okay." She said through a smile

"Girls, stop flirting with each other." Rajat, broke our streak. We glared at him. "You impervious human how dare you think that I was flirting with an old lady." Diana said, balling her fists. I slapped her head and exclaimed "I am not old!"

"Ouch! That hurt." She turned her glare to me as I snickered and then, she burst out laughing. "Okay I've got to go. Psych marathon tonight!" And made my way out.

Twenty minutes later, I was on the couch wearing my favourite off shoulder sweater and shorts, with the season one episode one of 'Psych' on the roll. Gosh, I love James Roday so much, and he did look a bit like Paul.

Two episodes later. I was sprawled on the sofa with my limbs bent at odd angles and my mouth stuffed with skittles.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Someone ratted the door. I sat upright and arranged the couch before going to the door. Peeping through the hole on the door, I saw it was Paul along with Aaron. I opened the entrance.

"Momma why are you not ready?" Aaron asked me. "Ready?" Then it hit me like a truck, "Oh yeah, that I am sorry Aar, I wouldn't be joining you guys I have some office work to do"

"What part of office work includes watching television?" asked Paul glancingin the direstion of the television. I glared at him but he took no notice and continued, "Fifteen minutes. I'll give you fifteen minutes, go get dressed in that time,or I will take you out just like this." He pointed out to my outfit. I gritted my teeth and turned on my heels for my room.

One day. One day, I will be immune to his words...

Half-heartedly, I got dressed. I put on a aqua green knee-length dress along with matching earrings and put some light make up on. Ten minutes later I picked up my clutch and mobile and I was out. "Let's go," I said huffily taking Aaron's hand in mine.

A hand slipped around my waist. I looked up at it's owner and faked a smile, "Don't think I came for you, I just came to spend some quality family time." I whispered into his ears. His grip on my waist tightened and he crushed my body against his. Sparks shot through me, so did they through him. I could see him gritting his teeth under the expression.

I guess, I can play the devil's pawn for once. This dinner is going to be so fun... I thought as we seated ourselves in the car.
