Sweetblunch's work "The Wallflower's Revenge," is a work of art. It is not easy to come up with a plot like that and even tougher to put it up in words. I feel lucky to have tasted her piece.
Another awful banner made by me on the top. I love the quote. I might actually use it somewhere but meh I'll see then!
Guys, the text in italics is supposed to be a dream and her internal thoughts and the straight ones the present. I have used some words, which I guess, some readers won't understand considering the fact that it is Hindi, I am providing a key.
KEY:
Pagala : Idiot
BHAI: It means brother, but in India that word is also used to address a gang leader.-X- 4. Goodbye -X-
"Happy sixteenth birthday Shivi."
The girl turned her head towards the side where this sound was coming. She turned to face a boy about 6'0". "I knew you would come." She said and threw her arms around him to hug him. "How could I not love, I promised." She smiled up at him pulling back from him.
"Where is aunty?" He asked. "Mum's sleeping, she is sick." She replied. The glint in his eyes changed. They became dark, cold and distant. He put his hands on her back and pulled her close. "So should I give my gift now." He said with all warmth evaporated from his voice. His eyes looked very dangerous, even a wild lion would scurry from a stare like that. She was scared, but was determined not to show it to him. Two years in the underworld had made her strong, internally and externally.
"What do you want Amir?" She asked neutrally. No longer keeping the sweetness in her voice. She had low tolerance for bullshit. Guess, old habits die hard?
"Your rehab time was over two months ago, why did you not come back?" He whispered at her face shaking her, his voice making him sound intimidating. His 6'1" frame wasn't helping much. But she knew this was procedure. The reckless way to make your victims scared. Without a single quiver in her voice she replied, " I didn't want to. I decided not to continue with my old ways."
He spoke up mockingly, "Baby there is only way to quit the gang, and that is by the wings of death." "Don't call me that." She hissed.
"So Miss Shivangi Solanki, you have a choice. Either you come back with me, or I will have to kill you." He sure did look intimidating, now. Raising an eyebrow she said, " Kill me Amir? You want to kill me? But by doing that you sign your own death warrant."
"How does killing you affect..." She didn't wait for him to complete his statement and kneed him in his groin and stepped hard on his toes. He convulsed back with the pain. She didn't wait and punched him straight in his gut. Then grabbed his hands and pulled them behind his back and held them with a head and with the other hand she banged his head onto the floor. "Your father never loved you. He has hated you since the day your mother had died, because you reminded him too much of her." Saying that she banged his head again as he wiggled to escape.
"You were 14 back then. It was I who convinced BHAI not to kill you, because I wanted a companion." She then lifted him up and pushed him towards the wall hard and BAM!
"It is because of me, you are still alive. Pagala... you should be thankful. Nah, but you decide it would be better to kill me, so go ahead." She said moving toward him slowly. But then, he quickly removed a gun out of his boots and BOOM! BOOM! She heard the gun shot twice. She checked her body for wound but there were none. He never missed his shots, then what has happened to him today. Unless... she turned around to check. Her face froze. Time stood still. The wind still blew in through the window. She stared at the lifeless body of her mother and brother... down on the floor, covered in red.
