Tony had arranged a funeral for my sister a day later. She was going to be buried on a hill that was surrounded by bright colorful flowers.
"Maggie?" Natasha said knocking on my door to the room they gave me. I got up from my bed that I was sitting on just staring at the clothes.
"Come in." I said weakly. She opened the door and sat down on the bed next to me. Natasha and I have grown as close as any of the other members just over night.
"You have to get ready." She said handing me a small necklace. "I found this in her pocket. Thought maybe you wanted to have it."
I took the small chain in my hand and studied it. I smiled and let out a little laugh. "I remember this." I said rolling around the small moon charm in my hand. "My dad had given it to me when I turned 11 but when I went off for a school trip for 1 week in a different state I gave it to Eve so it'd be like I was still with her. She was my best friend." I said wiping away a tear. "My family called me Nova because I was like a star that was always happy and bright."
"Let me." Natasha said grabbing the necklace clasping it around my neck. "Now change and come downstairs when you're done, we have to leave in an hour."
"Okay." I said getting up. I grabbed the white and black shirt and black skirt off of the chair and changed quickly. I braided the side of my hair and wrapped it into a messy bun and put on a black coat that was a bit too big for me because it was Peter's that he had given me until I could get all of my stuff from the apartment and move it here.
I put on my heels and sprayed some vanilla perfume on and walked silently down the stairs. I saw everyone waiting downstairs. They were all dressed in black and white. "I need to talk to him first."
"Who?" Bucky asked clearly confused.
"Boss."
"No. You're not-."
"Please." I said cutting his rant short. "One time. That's it. Promise."
"Someone has to be with you." Bucky said.
"I'll go with her." Peter spoke up. I looked at him and smiled. However Bucky still looked unsure. "You guys can watch."
He huffed out and finally gave in. We went down to maximum security and stopped in front of his door. I drew in a deep breath and opened the door. I took a step in and saw him cuffed to a table.
"What was your real name anyways?" I said starting off easy.
"Well hello there Phoenix."
"The names Maggie asshole."
"Well my names not asshole, you can call me Dox."
"Well asshole. Your wife and kids are going to know about this. About all of it. Rachel and little Amber and Sam will know about who you really are soon enough." I said blankly.
"DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH THEM!" He yelled suddenly. Peter pushed off of the wall and rose his hand. I put out a hand and motioned for him to stop.
"Who ever said I had to touch them?" I sassed walking towards the door Peter following behind me.
"YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!" He screamed at me thrashing around.
"See you there." I said and closed the door behind me and breathed out slightly. "Let's go." I said and we made our way up to the ground floor and off to the burial site.
Everyone laid a daisy on her grave after the service. I sat on the grass next to the freshly laid dirt and laid my head on one of my hands. I breathed in a shaky breath. "Fuck." I said letting some tears slide down my cheek. "You weren't supposed to die like that." I said biting my lip to hold back a sob.
"I love you Evie, you crazy girl. You tell mom and dad to wait for me." I said laying down my flower.
Someone put their hand on my shoulder and bent down to face me. "Maggie." Peter said turning me to face him. "It's going to be okay." He said pulling my shaking figure into his chest.
I just let the cries go. It was too painful to hold them in. He held my head with his right hand and squeezed me into him with his left hand. I gripped onto the tux jacket that he wore like if I let go he'd be gone too.
"Can we leave?" I whispered into his ear.
"Yeah, come on." He said pulling me up. He held onto my hand reassuringly and had one of his arms wrapped around my waist keeping me close to him. Bucky was in the car when we made it there and when he saw my broke state he hugged me tightly and held me like a father would to a daughter.
"They-'re all go-ne now." I stuttered. "I'm the last one."
"You have us, okay?" Bucky said pulling away to look at my face. "Everything will be okay." He muttered wiping away my tears.
I ended up draining myself so much that I fell asleep on Peter's shoulder on the way back to the tower. I felt someone trying to make me wake up but I couldn't find the strength to open my eyes.
I then felt someone pick me up carefully and start walking me somewhere.
Before I knew it I was laid into my bed and someone took my shoes off and laid a soft blanket over me. I felt the bed dip down a little bit and a pair of lips kiss my forehead gently. "It going to be alright, I won't let anyone hurt you." Peter whispered and rubbed the spot where he'd just kissed me.
He quietly walked out of the room and dimmed my lights and left me to sleep.
