We got to Bruce's lab and I was given a fresh pair of clothes and we cleaned and changed my bandage. "How you holding up?" Bucky asked.

"Well, my sister tried to kill me and the people that were coming for me are coming here to fight all of us. I mean it could be a lot worse." I retorted sarcasm dripping from my voice. "It could be a hell of a lot worse."

"We're going to beat them. You won't have to worry anymore." Bruce said calmly helping me off of the table. Just as we opened the door an explosion shook the compound.

"I guess they go big or go home?" Bucky said taking a knife out of his pocket handing it to me. "Let's go kick some assassin ass." He said and we all ran towards the commotion.

As soon as we got to the ground floor the fighting began. Some guy tried to stab me in the shoulder and I stabbed him and ran to another person.

The fighting just kept going on until there were bodies everywhere. Agents were fighting all of the Avengers were fighting people and I saw Eve and the Boss standing together watching us but the Boss had a gun to Eve's head.

He shot it twice and all fighting seized. "Phoenix." He started. "You failed sweetie."

"Don't hurt her." I warned pulling out a gun.

"Ah ah ah, don't do that now." He said pushing her towards the edge. I put my hands up.

"Let her go and let's talk like adults." I said holding back tears. "You don't have to hurt her."

"Aw have a soft spot now do we?" Boss said. "Well might as well get this over with now. Phoenix, you failed your mission now you have to be punished. So, say goodbye to your little sister." He said.

Everything after that seemed to happen in slow motion. He pulled the trigger and my sisters scared eyes soon turned lifeless. I ran up the stairs and threw a sharp piece of glass at the Boss's face. I then proceeded to beat the living shit out of him.

It took Thor, Bucky, Clint and Tony to pull my angry sobbing self off of this man. I soon saw my bruised and bloodied fist and looked back over at Eve. There was a small pool of blood around her hair dying her hair that was around her left ear crimson red.

"No Eve." I choked. "Oh-." I said holding her hand gently afraid I'd hurt her lifeless body. "No. Wake up, you were all I had left wake up. Wake UP!" I cried.

I let go of her hand and stood up. Agents had taken away Boss and I stared at Eve and could hear people talking to me trying to get me to say something but all I heard were muffled shouts.

I looked over the banister and saw many dead people laying in pools of blood. I looked back at Eve and ran back down the stairs that I'd ran up already. I ran as fast as my feet and bullet wound would allow me. I ran straight out of the compound as far away from the place as I could.

I went straight into the woods behind the place and went deep into them. It was around 7 o'clock so it was slowly getting dark.

My throat burned and my vision was blurred by the salty tears. I heard people screaming at me to stop but I kept going.

I jumped over a down tree and sat down behind a large tree and tucked my knees up to my chest. I cried there and held onto the only picture that I had left from before.

I heard people yelling my name and calling to me but I didn't stand up to make myself known. I stayed in my spot staring at the picture of my mom, dad, sister and I.

"MAGGIE!" Peter yelled.

I leaned my head against a tree and wiped my tears off with my shoulder. I stood up and looked around the tree. Peter's eyes stared right into mine and I don't know why but I ran the other way.

"MAGGIE!" He yelled and ran my way.

SLAM!

Someone side tackled me and we both fell to the ground with a thud. "You really have to stop doing that." I groaned.

"No more running."

"I don't want to go back there Peter." I said as he helped me up. "He killed her and he's still alive." I said starting to cry again.

"No no don't cry, hey look at me." He said lifting my chin up with his hand gently. "She knows you loved her."

He wiped tears off of my bruised cheek and hugged me. "It hurts so much." I mumbled into his shoulder. "It hurts so fucking much."

"I know." He said and whispered sweet nothings into my ear and he held me as tight as I held him. "We have to go back now and get you cleaned up alright." Peter announced after 10 minutes of us hugging each other.

I nodded my head weakly and we walked back to the compound. It was in those small moments of Peter helping me bandage up my wounds and try and keep my mind off of Eve's death and everything that'd just happened that maybe I like these people. Maybe this was supposed to happen?
