Misery's Company

i am the company that misery keeps,
i leave
i come back
i fight
i become compliant
however i am still in the company of misery
i try to run but all that seems to happen is a laugh and a steady pace next to my dear friend.

misery is the company i keep
it laughs and smiles with me as if to say
"take your happiness now for when its us and us alone i know how you truly feel"

misery is my only friend in this miserable world.
