CHAPTER EIGHT

A week later, Kira, Charlotte, Henry, and I were all down in the man cave, waiting on Ray. "Where is he?" Charlotte demands.

"I don't know. Ray, come on, you're gonna miss your plane!" Henry yelled. For the first time in forever, Ray is having a vacation. He's well... rather nervous about it.

"I'm coming!" Ray yells back. The back door opens up and I saw him with his mattress. He struggled to get into the main room.

I frowned and Charlotte looked at Henry. "What is he-"

"Ray, what are you doing with that mattress?" Henry groaned.

"Yeah, you're going on vacation, not moving." I point out, mentally rolling my eyes at him.

"I'm taking it on my trip!" Ray shares.

"They're not gonna let you take a mattress on a plane." Kira pointed out.

"Yeah, you're right." Ray agreed with Kira, before putting down the mattress. "Maybe I shouldn't go."

Ray rushes to the panels. "See! I knew it." Henry huffs as we walked back over there.

"Ray... you can't blow off your cousin's wedding." Charlotte tells him.

Ray sighed and turned around on the wheelchair. "I know. But... most marriages don't work out. I'll just go to his next wedding!"

Ray tried running off. "Okay, okay." Henry quickly caught him. "Just admit that you're afraid to leave town, 'cause you think me, Charlotte, Kira, Allie, and Schowz can't handle things around here without you."

"Well, what if there was an emergency?" Ray asked.

"I'll call my brother." I joked and Ray's eyes widen.

"Superman?" He gasps. "Really?"

"No!" I cried out. "Henry and I will blow a bubble as Kid Danger and Supergirl, we will deal with it."

"Well, what if you suddenly get that disease, huh?" Ray asks, turning to us. "Numb tongue! And you can't blow a bubble!"

"Numb tongue?" Henry asks, raising an eyebrow. "If I do get "numb tongue" Supergirl can clearly handle things."

"That's not a real disease," Kira said. "People don't talk normally one second and then all of a sudden they start going- blah, blah, blah," she mocks her tongue getting numb.

"Uh-oh," Schowz had just come in behind us. "Did she get numb tongue?"

Ray pointed at Schowz. "See?"

"Hey, shouldn't you be on your way to the airport?" Schowz asked Ray.

"Yes!" We all say together.

Ray groaned. "Okay, okay. But I need my suitcase! Bork!" The door opens, Bork comes out with Ray's heavy suitcase. More like a box. "Hey, Bork. Bring it over here." Bork grunts and does what Ray says. "Thanks, buddy." Ray hands out a piece of uncooked steak to him.

Bork grunts hungrily and takes it from him, and begins to eat it before walking away. "Okay, what's in here?" Henry asks.

"Stuff I might need," Ray tells us. "Like cotton swabs, shampoo... non-cotton-swabs. You know what? Let's talk about all the different types of swabs."

"Stalling!" Henry points at Ray.

"Well, it's just-"

"It's only three days." I reminded him.

"We can handle it," Henry added.

Kira nodded. "Go."

"Okay!" Ray agreed. "Right after one last hula dance with Laylani."
