•••Flashback•••
~Feburary 28, 2021~
"I have to do this Abby." I stated to my editor. Abby sighed.
"I have a feeling that this won't end well." Abby stated. "You two love each other, why are you doing this to her?"
"We can't be together," I replied. "Not like this. It will hurt her more if we stayed together. Could you imagine being together with someone who's goals are no longer are the same as yours? I don't want to remain grounded in LA. I want to travel. I want to experience things." Abby raised an eyebrow.
"I understand being with someone with different goals," Abby scolded. "My ex fiance and I had similar goals from a very young age of 14, all through our teens, and entering our 20's. I only applied for this job to get my parents to shut up. Plus, I was hoping he would move here with me so he can work on music. Suddenly, my goals changed after you hired me and I expected his to change as well. He was too stubborn and still wanted our childish dreams rather than a normal life. So, after 8 years and 10 months, we split. I don't want that heart break to happen to you two. You'll regret it Ro. Trust me." I sighed.
"I have to do it." I stated. "I'm sorry." I walked out of the studio and went home. I opened the door to be greeted by the dogs.
"Ro?!" Justine called out. "Is that you?!"
"Yeah!" I called back. "Can you come out here?! We need to talk!" Justine walked out to the living room.
"What's wrong?" Justine asked.
"I'm sorry Justine," I stated. "But we have to break up. It's our only option. I can't make you come with me and I can't stay. Plus, neither one of us can handle long distance." Justine sighed. I felt so bad for doing this.
"I understand." Justine replied. She walked over and kissed my forehead and hugged me. I tried to hide the tears, but I cried.
"I'll always love you." I stated. "I will never stop loving you."
•••Flashback Ends•••
~August 13, 2044~
"Ro?" I hear Justine ask. "Are you okay?" I turned to my wife and gave a faint smile.
"Just thinking." I replied. Justine raised her eyebrow.
"Ro," Justine stated. "We have known each other for 32 years and been married for just under 19 years. I know you've been thinking about that breakup we had in 2021."
"But-" I stated.
"I knew you didn't want to hurt me." Justine stated. "Chocolate Chip, you know I would of found a way to make it work, and we did. I visted you monthly, we face timed, I sent you good morning texts at 3 a.m. my time, knowing it's 6 a.m. your time and you were already up. We even planned our wedding long distance. If anything, we realised that we truly needed each other during that break. I love you Ro." I smiled and kissed her.
"I love you too." I stated. There was a knock at the door.
"Is someone coming over for Nerdy Nummies?" Justine asked.
"That will be Mark." I stated. "We're doing a cake decorating challenge." I went to open the door to be greeted by Mark, Lucas, and Danielle. Mark was in a wheelchair.
"Hey Ro." Mark beamed. Mark's hair was all gone and he seemed pale. He didn't look like the guy I knew. The guy who jumped in front of a laser beam gun when we did Heist. The guy who frosted a moustache on me. The guy who embraced life. The guy infront of me was just a shell of a man who was once Markiplier.
