---Lucas' POV---
---October 1, 2044---
"I've never seen him so sick." Dani stated. I sighed. The doctors say that dad's days are limited. It hurts me seeing him in pain. I know mom, both sets of grandparents, my step grandma, his niece, and everyone else we've lost in the past has been waiting for him."I know," I stated. "I know the pain will be gone soon. Call me insensitive, but I wish he would die. That way he is no longer in pain."
"It'll be a good thing when he dies." Dani stated. "Dad is suffering and the medication isn't much help." I help my dad's hand as a tear fell down my cheek.
~Flashback~
June 2041"So, thank you so much for watching," Dad said into the camera. "Let us know what you think down in the comments. Subscribe for more videos, and be sure to press that like button. I'll see you guys in the next video. Buh-bye!" I turned the camera off. Dad began to cough and he had trouble breathing.
"Dad?" I asked. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know." Dad stated. "This cold won't go away." Dad continued to cough. He wasn't doing too well. I walked over and checked his head.
"Dad," I scolded. "Please! Just tell me the truth!"
"Fine," Dad stated. "I may not have long to live. I have lung cancer."
"Dad..." I whispered. I ran over and hugged him. Dad wrapped his arms around me.
"Promise me Lucas," Dad stated. "No matter what happens, you will take care of your sister. With your mom gone, you two only have each other after I die, so I need you to be there for Danielle." I paused for a moment, then nodded.
"Always dad." I stated.
~Flashback ends~
I sighed and placed my hand on my sister's shoulder. Dad's friends began coming in, one or two at a time to say goodbye. Ethan, Tyler, MatPat, Bob, Wade, and a few others came by to say their goodbyes. The Ezarik-Pansinos came by. Sabrina walked over and hugged me.
"Are you okay?" Sabrina asked.
"No." I replied. "I am losing my father. I already lost my mother, now my father." Sabrina let me go.
"I'm sorry." Sabrina said. "I know it hurts to lose someone you love." I sighed. I look over at Rosanna and Justine. Ro reached over and touched dad's hand. Justine placed her hand on Ro's shoulder.
"Mark." Ro stated. "We're going to miss you, but we're glad you're no longer in pain."
"Mama Ro..." I hear Sabrina mumble.
"You're going to see Amy again." Ro stated. I put my arm around Sabrina.
"He'll be okay." Sabrina reassured me.
"Remember when we were kids?" I asked. "And during the summer, mom and dad would take you and I to Disneyland to give your moms a break for the day?"
"Yeah," Sabrina replied. "I remember that. Remember during the holidays when Mama Ro would throw those Christmas parties with everyone. You, Riley, Bryan, Joseph, and I would play video games in Mama J's gaming room."
"We were young and carefree." I stated. Rosanna let go of dad's hand and went to leave. Justine followed.
"I better go." Sabrina stated. "I'll call you later." The three women left the room. Danielle looked over at me.
"I better go call the funeral home." Dani stated. "Call me when you're sure he's about to go." I sat down next to my dad. There was nothing but skin and bones on him. That man in the bed wasn't my father. That man in the bed is a shell of once was. I placed my hand onto his hand. I sighed and looked over at him.
"Just let go dad." I whimpered. "Dani and I will be okay." His breathing slowed down. Danielle walked in and sat on the other side of dad.
"Why is he fighting to live?" Danielle asked. I thought for a moment.
"He's worried about us." I replied. Danielle reached for dad's hand.
"Daddy." Danielle begged. "Please, let go. Lucas and I will be okay. I promise we'll be okay." Dad finally took his last breath. He went cold. I began to cry.
"You're with mom." I sobbed. "You're finally with mom."
~The next day~
After the body was brought out, I set the camera up in what is now my office. The world had a right to know what happened."Hello everybody," I stated. "My name is Luciplier, and today, I share sad news. All of you long time subscribers know my dad, Markiplier, the founder of this channel, has been battling cancer for over three years. Unfortunately, yesterday, dad lost the battle. Dad was determined to keep fighting, but the universe had other plans. Now, at the age of 55, my dad is officially gone. I don't know what happens after you die, but I would like to think he and my mom, whom I lost in 2040, are both happy to be reunited again. I like to think that they're both hugging each other and crying right now. I like to think that my dad is so happy to see her again. He was heartbroken after we lost her, so to know that they're together again puts my mind at ease. For now on, I will be taking on the Markiplier channel. Am I ready? No. However, dad always said that I will do just fine. I promise to keep the name to honour my dad, but my name is Luciplier. Dad and I agreed to that before he died. If you wish to send flowers to the funeral home, the address is down below, but the event will be for family and friends only. Thank you guys for your thoughts and prayers for my dad, and thank you guys so much for watching. I'll see you in the next video. Buh-bye." I got up and turned off the camera. I began to cry again. Danielle came into the room and hugged me.
"You did the right thing." Danielle reassured me.
"I know." I stated. "But it's hard. This is dad we're talking about."
"Keep your head up." Danielle stated. "Now we better make arrangements for the funeral. It's in a few weeks. Who are the pallbearers?"
"I'll talk to Jack, Bob, Wade, Tyler, and Ethan." I stated. "I, myself, will be another." Danielle nodded.
"Okay." Danielle stated. "Let's do this." Danielle patted my shoulder and gave a nod.
