It was Sunday and I hadn't heard from Caleb since Friday,a million ideas were running through my head. Mariam and Luke told me their date was went well but nothing from Caleb after I messaged him to check on him.

Did I do something wrong,did I say something wrong,why was he ignoring me?

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked Jenifer as we got ready for church.

"Caleb will be Caleb,if he doesn't reach out confront him tomorrow,"she said while zipping my dress.

"It's fine,I don't care anymore,"I sighed.

She rolled her eyes,"Lying when you are about to go repent your sins? Shame on you."

"Shut up,"I scolded her.

She just laughed on her way out.

"Hurry up girls!" My mom shouted from downstairs.

"Coming mom!" I replied.

I car ride was full of us singing along to Gospel such as He Still Loves Me,Who You Say I am and I Smile. We arrived at our church and it put a smile on my face. My smile automatically dropped when I spotted Caleb walking with his family. Amelia spotted new and smiled at me warmly. There was a tall man standing next to Robert,he looked like Caleb but with light ginger hair and he looked two times his age.
Our families walked towards each other and smiled.

"Isabella! You look gorgeous,"Amelia complimented me.

"So do you!" I gave the same energy back.

I greeted everyone except Caleb as our parents met each other.

"Oh,burn,"George and Robert said at the same time.

I laughed at them as Caleb glared at them.

"So you don't greet me now?" He asked with a hint of irritation.

"So you don't text back now?" I scolded him.

"Isa-"

"I'm not mad,I don't have the energy to be angry,"I cut him off.

He gave me a confused look,"Okay—if you aren't mad,what are you?"

"Annoyed,tired,confused,"I stated quickly.

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked me.

"I don't have anything to say,"I said with a blank facial expression.

He sighed,"Please Bella, I have an explanation."

I fake smiled,"I can hear it after I go meet your father. It would be rude to not greet him even though I don't know him you know? It's just human decency."

I walked to my parents as they were a few meters away from us.

"Hello,I'm Isabella Crawford. I don't believe we've met,"I went in for a hand shake with Mr McLaren.

"Scott McLaren,"he replied back.

"This is the young lady I told you about Scott,"Amelia tried to whisper to him.

"Oh,she speaks very fondly of you. You're a friend of Caleb's right?" he asked me.

I made eye contact with Caleb,"Yes sir I am."
