Chapter 1:First Day (Alex)

"Rise and shine. Today is the first day of the rest of your life." My mom says bursting into my room.

I groan as i roll over and put the covers over my face

As much as i love the fact that my mom just uprooted our lives to move 800 miles away just so i can finish out my senior year like a "normal" boy, i would've appreciated the extra 10 minutes i had before my alarm.

"Lets go bub i want you to be there early so we can talk to your teachers"

i feel my stomach drop; i get out of bed and throws on my binder, the loosest shirt i own a pair of sweatpants and the socks i wore the night before

i walk out and slip my shoes on

"look ma i can tell them on my own. You dont have to go with me"

She looks at me and nods "okay well im still driving you i dont know where your bus stop is yet"

We jump in the car and drive a short ways till we pull up to the school

Mom looks over as she pulls up to the front and raises her eyebrow

"what?" i look at her confused

"Did you forget something " shes says as she points to my backpack in the backseat

"Dang my bad ma thanks" i grab it and start to open the door when she grabs my arm

"Hey, keep your head up handsome you got this" i smile and hug her tight trying not to cry

"Thanks mama i love you"

I get out and watch her pull off as i can feel my stomach fall to my feet

"Shit here we go" i say walking into the front doors

I walked straight into the office to have my 'hey im trans' speech with the principle after an awkward talk and a sweaty handshake he assures me that the private email he sent will cover me.

I really hope so. I need this to work out im already far enough on hormones for most to not question anything the only flaws are my stupid chest and that name but hey fingers crossed.

I walk out and open my bag rummaging around praying mom put my schedule in there

I finally find it and find the room number for my first period and i head off in search of it

Its getting close to when the bell should ring

The bell chimes

"Fuck " i say out loud

After 3 more minutes of roaming around i find it i bust through the door just trying to not wimp out and all eyes focus on me.

"And you are" the teacher says from her desk

I feel the blood drain from my face "iiim Im Alex i just moved here"

She nods "oh thats right well alex i hope this tardy isnt going to turn into a habit"

"No ma'am"

"Good now take a seat anywhere youd like"

I take a seat in the back with my head down just trying to get this over with

I open my bag looking for my sketch book as the teacher rambles

I find it and pull it out turning to a new page and realize i left my pen at home cause i was drawling all night

I rummage around in my bag "Crap" big surprise i didnt bring anything to write or draw with

i sigh and put my head in my hands

i look up as i hear a pen land on my desk ,theres a note attached to the clip on the top

' You dont have to give it back as long as you drawl me something, please lol'

I look beside me and there was this b e a u tiful girl i mean wow

she had this reddish brown hair and these hazel eyes and oh shit she sees me staring

She smiles at me

i gesture to the pen trying not to act awkward

she nods and says in a voice that sounds like honey

"Hi, Im Hallie "

"hhi im uh im alex " i trip over my words

she giggles and says "so are you gonna draw me something"

"uh yeah yeah sure what would you like im not like the best at all by the way "

"i want you to draw me something you like i wanna get to know you"

i blush and smile "ookay"

i turn back around and stare at my book and think to myself Fuck this could be bad
