Chapter 24: There goes everything (Hallie)

I sit in my car and just think of how I lost it all. I start to cry then I hear my door open and it's Alex. I still keep crying because I feel like he came to yell at me some more or something. He puts his hand on my leg.
"Hey...please don't cry. Come on let's go somewhere to talk." I nod but don't say anything and drive us somewhere.

After for driving for a bit, we get to a lake. We get out and go sit by the water. He looks at me and I just look down. I speak up after a couple minutes of silence.
"I'm sorry. I really am. I didn't know Chad was gonna even do that. I didn't know he didn't like transgenders. I am so so soooo sorry Alex. I really really am," I look at him and he's looking at the water. He looks over at me and pulls me into his arms.
"It's okay. I mean I have a black eye and busted lip but you showed me that you weren't with him. Well I don't think you were intentionally having it right by my locker but I wouldn't heard about it. But I knew right then and there that you weren't lying. That you really do like me. I really do like you Hallie. And it'll be okay. I'll try to go back to school but I mean it, if someone does anything else like back at my old school, I'm done. I'll just be homeschooled. Okay babydoll?" He looks down at me and I nod. He cups my face and kisses me deeply. I feel sparks fly, my toes curl, and I just feel so safe. I pull away after a minute.
"We should probably get going before our parents go insane for where we are." He laughs and nods. We get back to the car. I turn on some music and head back to his house.

After a bit of driving we get to his house.
"What the fuck?" I see my parents car in his driveway. We look at each other as we say 'shit' under our breaths. We get out and before we open the door, his mom swings it open and basically drags us inside.
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?! THE SCHOOL CALLED US AND TOLD US WHAT HAPPEN?! EXPLAIN YOURSELVES!" His mother yelled at us and I see my parents very upset too. So we look at each other and we tell them everything.

After a good hour of explaining, yelling, then crying and forgiving one another. Alex takes me to his room because my family is gonna stay for dinner. We get to his room and his cat is sleeping on his bed. I smile then look around his room. Woah. His walls are full of posters of space and sharks. I smile and look at all of them.
"Wow, you do really love space," I look over at him and he gets all shy.
"Yeah I really do. It's so interesting," he starts to tell me everything about space and sharks. He starts to ramble and I cup his face and kiss him passionately. I feel him relax and I pull away.
"Breath baby. I love it when you ramble," he smiles shyly and I sit on his bed and pet his cat. I smile, "what's his name?"
"Morty. Like from Rick and Morty. I love that show. It's one of m-...SHIT I almost forgot, " he runs to his closet and grabs a lego box thing and sets it on the bed, "it's my T day. I gotta do my T shot...you wanna stay and watch, maybe help?" I look at him and think for a minute.
"Yeah sure. Maybe you can show me how to do it for you if you ever need help." I smile at him and he smiles back. He gets Morty out of the room because he says he always gets too nosy. I laugh. He closes his door and sits on the bed and gets it all ready.
"Alright, you ready?" I nod. Here we go.
