Juniper slouched against the back of the couch, staring at the old box sitting on the fireplace mantle. The Slytherin common room was empty apart from her and Draco, who hadn't even realized she was there.

Despite only knowing him for a few weeks, Juniper had figured the Malfoy boy out. She could tell he preferred to be alone a lot of the time, because if he was alone he didn't feel pressured to keep up his reputation, his fake self. And Juniper knew that's all it was, an act, because she was the same way. They acted different around each other, the two of them couldn't see it, but everyone else could.

"What's in that box?" She asked, startling Draco out of his trance.

He glanced at her for a moment before looking over at the box. "I don't know, no one does. No one's been able to open it. Some people say it belonged to Salazar Slytherin."

"Well then, we're in luck.." Juniper smirked, walking over to the fireplace and grabbing the box. She moved to sit next to Draco, who leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees.

She took her wand out of her robes and waved it over the box. For a moment, nothing happened. But as Juniper was about to stand and put the box back, it unlocked and the lid popped open.

Draco and Juniper exchanged bewildered looks before leaning forward to look inside.

The box contained pieces of jewelry, bottles of ink, and other objects Juniper couldn't identify.

Reaching into the box, Juniper pulled out a necklace, a silver ball—it looked almost like the golden snitch— on a long silver chain.

"Come with me." She said and stood. Putting the necklace back and closing the lid, she grabbed the box. "Is this technically stealing?"

Draco shrugged and followed Juniper to her dormitory. As she whispered something and walked in, he stopped outside the door.

"Are you coming in?" Juniper asked and turned to look at him.

"The girls dormitories are charmed, boys can't go in." He explained, shoving his hands in his pockets

"Oh." Juniper smiled and waved for him to come in. "Mine's not."

He raised his eyebrow at her as if to ask 'are you messing with me?'

"It's not!" She laughed, setting the box down on her desk. "Anymore. I changed it so now you just need a password to unlock it, like the common rooms."

Draco gave her a skeptical look and cautiously stepped inside her room. He wouldn't put it past her to prank him, she seemed like the kind of person who liked mischief. Besides, he'd seen her with the Weasley twins on multiple occasions, and everyone knows they love pranks.

As Juniper rummaged through things on her desk, Draco observed her room. It was clean and organized, everything had a specific spot, except one.

One book sat on top of her neatly made bed.
