Pansy Parkinson had disliked Juniper since the day they met on the Hogwarts Express. Harry had wondered where Juniper was during the first few hours of the train ride, what he didn't know was that she had gotten into a fight.

Pansy had decided to pick on some new kids, but unfortunately for her, the new kid she chose to pick on was Juniper.

Juniper was wandering around the train—because it was her first year and she had never seen it before—when she bumped into Pansy. The Parkinson girl tried to pick a fight with Juniper, but ended up embarrassing herself when Juniper used various jinxes on her.

So now, as Pansy stood with Crabbe and Goyle, she watched Juniper and Draco being all touchy and happy down the hall. And she hated it. Draco was hers, she had liked him since their first year and refused to let some new girl show up and steal him.

Pansy huffed and crossed her arms, storming down the hall toward the pair. Before they could acknowledge her presence, Pansy slapped Juniper in the face.

"Stay away from my Draco, he deserves better than an ugly rat like you. He should be taking me to the Yule Ball, not you!" Pansy whined, stomping her feet.

A crowd of students gathered around the commotion, Fred and George appearing behind Juniper ready to defend her if need be. Although, they knew she could handle herself, but still, she had become like another sister to them and would always protect her. Juniper slowly looked up at Pansy, holding her hand on her face where she was hit.

Draco's mouth fell open, not in shock, but in fear. He had known about Pansy's crush on him for quite some time, but never felt the same way about her, and since she was always the jealous type, this kind of attitude didn't surprise him. No, he was afraid for her. Juniper could be viscous to people who crossed her, he was afraid of what she would do to Pansy.

His fear only grew when he noticed Juniper hadn't started yelling or cursing Pansy yet, and instead, she had started laughing.

"Envy is an ugly colour, Pansy." Juniper said, her voice void of emotion. "And you don't wear it well."

"You can't just show up and take him away from me." Pansy spat, crossing her arms again.

"If Draco wanted you," she smirked, one hand on her hip and the other draped over Draco's shoulder, "he wouldn't spend all his time with me."

More students had gathered around the group, hoping to see a fight, and soon enough one of the Professors would likely show up. Draco watched silently, not wanting to get involved.

"Whatever. He's probably just using you anyway."

"Oh Pansy, sweetie." Juniper stepped forward and placed her hand on Pansys shoulder. "Just because the only guys you can get are the ones who are using you for something, doesn't mean the same applies to me."

Pansy scoffed and slapped Juniper again. The crowd of students let out various exclamations.

Draco could see the exact moment Juniper went from emotionless to murderous, and unfortunately for Pansy, he wasn't going to be the one who got in her way. He had seen the aftermath of her anger when she destroyed nearly everything in her room.

Juniper stood up straight and punched Pansy in the face, causing Pansy to fall to the ground holding her jaw. But Juniper wasn't finished and crawled onto Pansy, punching her again and again, and kept punching her until she felt herself being dragged away. After the initial shock and amazement, Fred, George, and Draco struggled to pull her away as she kept trying to escape their grasp.

Fred and George stayed behind to deal with the problem while Draco forced the still struggling Juniper into an empty classroom.

Juniper was seething, her fists clenched at her side and her jaw tightened. She paced back and forth before attempting to break whatever was near her.

"Hey." Draco said, pulling her toward him, but she wasn't listening. It was like the only thing that existed at the moment was her anger and her need to destroy everything.

"Hey, June. Look at me. " He said, putting his hands on either side of her face and forcing her to look at him. He brushed her hair away from her face and watched her intently. "Calm down."

Juniper looked up at Draco, staring into his icy grey eyes and listening to his voice. She had never heard his voice sound so soft before. Her heartbeat and breathing started to slow, his voice calming her rage. Draco wrapped his arms around Juniper, pulling her close to him. She rested her head against his chest and hugged him tight, squeezing her eyes shut.

She always had trouble managing her anger. When she got angry, it felt as if someone else was controlling her body and she was watching from the backseat, unable to do anything about it.

No one had ever been able to calm Juniper while she was in a rage, not even her mother. So how was it that this boy she had known for only a few months could do it so easily? Juniper didn't know how Draco managed it, but it scared her.

As Draco stood there, holding Juniper close to him, he realized how much he had grown to care for her. She was the only person he could truly be himself around. The only person who truly accepted him for what he really was. Draco kept up the act of the son his father wanted, but he knew that wasn't entirely who he was.

Juniper cared enough to try and see past the facade he put on, and although he'd never shown much emotion even around her, she'd still seen him at times when he let his guard down. A girl he had just begun to know was able to do what no one had before and he didn't know how, but it scared him.
