Summary: The Doctor never ceases to amaze her.
Out of his newest companions, she was one of his favorites. She'd never replace companions like Amy and Rory, but he loved her just the same. She flew through the doors of the TARDIS, her blue eyes sparkling. "That was so amazing!" she said beaming from ear to ear. She was amazed by everything.
Everywhere he took her, everything they did, she always said it was the most amazing thing she had ever seen/done.
She looked at the world/universe through a child's eyes. But she was mature beyond her years. She was like nothing the Doctor had ever seen. She was so different and maybe that's why he kept her around. "I can see how you never get bored. You have the world/universe at your fingertips", she said running her fingers across the controls of the TARDIS.
"I don't really get bored. I just get lonely", he told her.
She cocked her head to the side.
"You're not the first companion I've had", he said.
She giggled and said, "I figured out that much".
They were silent for a moment.
"So how many?" she asked him.
"How many what?"
"How many companions have you had?"
The Doctor smiled and said, "I think I've lost count. I'm over a thousand years old".
"How do you choose?"
"I don't really know. Sometimes they pick me. Like you. Why did you pick me?"
"Well you know it wasn't because of my home life. Maybe I picked you, because you were the first person I met on the street that day. Or maybe it was the way you grabbed my hand and told me to run".
"You're different. That's why I picked you. I had been watching you for a couple of weeks. You don't look at things like other people do. An alien to most people would be dangerous and ugly, but to you...you're just curious. You want to know who they are, where they're from, and if you can, you want to help them. It reminds me of a younger me. Why I chose the name 'The Doctor'".
She smiled and set her head on his shoulder. "Do you want to know what I think about you? I think you're the most amazing man I've ever met".
The Doctor blushed.
He was used to getting complimented, but there was something about her complimenting him. It made him feel, for lack of a better term, younger again.Like he was just starting out. "You're just saying that", he told her.
"I mean it, Doctor. I've never met anyone as amazing as you. Or maybe I'm just amazed at your life and how you care about others".
They fell into a comfortable silence for a few minutes.
"So, where are we going next?" she asked excitedly.
"Anywhere you want".
She leaned into towards his ear and whispered, "Surprise me".
The Doctor smiled. He started pressing buttons and she heard the familiar sound of the TARDIS starting up. "Do you want to say this time?" he asked her.
"Could I?"
"Go right ahead".
She grabbed onto the handle of the lever and said, "Geronimo!" She pushed the lever down and off they went.
The Doctor knew she wouldn't be able to travel with him forever, but he was going to make every day the best one she could have. He would never tire of amazing her.
Of seeing her blue eyes sparkle with happiness.
He hoped she would never lose that spark.
