3rd Person POV:
As (Y/N) was cruising down the river, he senses that something OR someone was watching him. But he thought it was due to him imagining things.
However, he push those thoughts out of his head when he spotted the swamps up ahead.
(Y/N)'s POV:
After getting those thoughts of something watching me out of my head, I've notice that I was arriving at the swamps. I stopped the boat and pulled out the map, making sure that this was the right place.
Sure enough, this was indeed in fact the place. The place where most of those boats disappeared in.
(Y/N)'s thoughts:
"Going into the swamps with the boat could be safer. However, it also makes me a easier target for monsters. Maybe it's best if I leave the boat and continue on foot."
(Y/N)'s thoughts ended
(Y/N) drove the boat near a tree and used the rope to tie it on the tree's trunk, to prevent the water current from drifting the boat downriver.
(Y/N) grabs the spears and positions on it's back as he continued on ahead into the murky swamps, unaware of a mysterious hooded figure coming from behind the trees.
(Y/N)'s POV:
After leaving the boat behind, i journeyed into the swamps to finish whatever's attacking the village's boats. Suddenly, i heard the sounds of a struggle happening.
Even with the swampy mud, I ran as fast as I could towards the struggle. Unfortunately, as I got their, the boat was already destroyed and it's driver was on the ground, severely injured. I ran to the driver's aid. "SIR, WHAT HAPPENED?!" (Y/N) questioned worriedly as the driver struggled to say "M-m-mons-ster." The drive said weakly, as he coughs up blood. "What kind?" (Y/N) asked. "Large...Beast...Poison." The driver said before he passes away.
3rd Person POV:
(Y/N) was in a moment of silence before he moves the driver's hands onto his chest and closes his eyes. (Y/N) then walks towards the boat and investigates it. First, he checks the front, sides and back of the boat. "Hmm,." (Y/N) thought to himself as he notices a fang was lodged in the boat's wooden surface. (Y/N) grabs it and examines it "This tooth is unlike anything I've ever before." (Y/N) said to himself as he hops into the destroyed boat.
He notice a large net that's ripped to shreds and had a small number of dead fish in it. "Whatever attacked this boat wasn't doing it to protect it territory, it's going after the fishes the people collect and trade it to with others." (Y/N) said to himself again.
He then spots something near the shore and leaves the boat. He sees a footprints, the likes of which he has never seen before. (Y/N) bends down and examines the tracks. "Five fingers, like a humans, but humans don't leave teeth like the one that was found at the boat." (Y/N) said to himself before noticing some bubbles coming out of the swamp.
(Y/N) grabs his sword and gets into a defensive position. Suddenly, a large, long serpent with stubby arms appears from the water and fires a ball of dark green slime at (Y/N).
(Y/N) dodges the attacks as he grabs his crossbow and fires a arrow at the serpent. It dodge the arrow and charged at (Y/N), which countered by jumping onto the serpent's back and unleashed a Aard blast onto it.
The serpent hits the ground hard as (Y/N) puts away his crossbow before getting ready to strike. However, the serpent recovers and throws (Y/N) off his back and into the swampy water.
(Y/N) and the serpent stare each other down as they began to circle each other, not letting either their guard or their glare down from each other.
