After battling the Leshen, I needed a long rest. But of course, that wretched sun stopped me from getting any sleep.
After putting my clothes, I went down to see everyone having their breakfast. But I noticed Koneko wasn't eating, instead she was fiddling with her notched Neko ear.
"Koneko's not eating much, her ear's probably causing some discomfort." I thought to himself. "Good morning, (Y/N)." Rias said, pulling me from my thoughts. "Good morning, everyone." I said back, as Asia gave me a plate. "Here you go." She said. "Thanks." I said as I took a seat next to Koneko.
She didn't noticed me as she was too busy rubbing her ear. "Hey Koneko." I said, as she turned to me in surprise. "Oh, hey (Y/N), you scared me." She said. "Your not eating?" I asked her. "I'm not hungry." Is all that she said before continuing to rub her ear. "Koneko, you shouldn't worry about your ear." I said, trying to reassure her. "But would people think if they see my ear? I'm worried that they'll won't like me anymore." Koneko said. "Koneko, we all have our scars, both on the outside and on the inside. But a scar doesn't make you you, it's what's inside that matters." I explained, causing everyone to nod in agreement. Koneko started to cry tears of joy before hugging (Y/N). She leans into my ear. "Thank you." She whispered before eating her breakfast.
I chuckled at her before nodding as I started to eat my breakfast. After finishing eating, the announcements came on. "Will (Y/N) of the ORC Club, please come to the Student's Council, please?" Said a man, which I presume to be in his fifty's.
I turned to see everyone in a confused manner. expect for Issei, who holds a smirk on his face. "Good, the principal called him to the Student's Council, chances are he'll probably get expelled and get out of my life for good." Issei thought.
"Well, guys. Guess I'll see you all around." I said, getting up and walking out the door.
(POV CHANGE: 3RD PERSON)
As (Y/N) was walking towards the Student's Council, he accidentally bumped into Kiryuu. "Sorry, Kiryuu." (Y/N) said to Kiryuu as he offered a hand to her. She accepted it as I helped pull her up. "Thanks." She said. "So, what's the hurry?" (Y/N) asked. "Oh, I heard that Koneko was injured. Is she alright." She asked. "Yeah, but her self-esteem was lowered a bit, but thanks to both me and the others, we helped her." (Y/N) explained the events of what happened. Kiryuu grew a smile. "Thanks (Y/N), for being just a good friend." She said as (Y/N) chuckled. "Happy to help, but I need to go." (Y/N) said before walking off. "Rias and the others must be very lucky for them to have a wonderful friend like him." Kiryuu thought, not knowing about 2 things.
1.) Not everyone in Rias' peerage like him.
& 2.) The girls in the peerage sees him as more then a friend.
After having a small talk with Kiryuu, (Y/N) arrived at the Student's Council. He knocked as Sona's voice can be heard. "Come in." She said as (Y/N) entered to see all of Sona's peerage and Sirzechs waiting for him. "What's the matter?" (Y/N) asked. "Sona and her peerage decided to do a Witcher Contract." Sirzechs said, giving (Y/N) the contract. (Y/N) read the contract, to see what the person who posted this want. "So, a farmer's livestock went missing, even though the wife thinks they're misplaced, but the husband says that something big came and attacked. Sounds like a blast." (Y/N) said with sarcasm at the end.
"But if the farmer says something's attacking his livestock, I guess we should go check it out." (Y/N) said. Sirzechs nodded. "Very well, both Sona's peerage and (Y/N) will go and investigate the farm." He announced before opened big up a magic circle and walking through it.
(POV CHANGE: (Y/N)'S)
After Sirzechs left, Sona then opened a magic circle of her own. "Alright then everyone, let's go." She said before walking through the portal. The others followed, but I was a bit hesitant. "Should I tell the others where I am? They could get worried, especially now that Koneko's self-esteem is getting a bit low." I thought to myself before Tsubaki grabbed my arm. "Come on, slowpoke." She said before dragging me along.
(SCENE CHANGE: FARM)
We me and Tsubaki came through the magic circle, we see that we've arrived at a farm. We were greeted by a man dressed in a farmers attire. "Hello, you guys got my notice?" He asked in calm manner. "Yes, we did." Sona said. "Good. I'm Hank," Hank introduced himself before gesturing towards the Farm behind him. "and this here, is my farm." He said. "Come, I'll show you the place where me and my families livestock where attacked." He instructed us as we followed him.
He lead us to a open field, where we see 5 cows killed and eaten. "This happened just last night. I heard a commotion with the cows and went to investigate. When I got here, I saw something big, flying away." He explained, digging into his pocket and pulling out a black feather. "It left this before it flew away." He said as I grabbed the feather and investigate it. "Hmm, I think I've seen this feather before but I can't remember where." I said before the feather back to Hank. "Go back to your wife, stay safe." I said as he nodded before walking away.
I turned back to everyone. "Ok guys, rule number one about monster hunting: find clues about what monster your gonna fight. We'll search the bodies to find anything that could help us." I declared as everyone nodded.
Everyone then split into 5 groups of 3 people, and investigated each body. "Hmm, these cows looked like they were pierced by something sharp, but by something that isn't a animal's claw." Sakura noticed. "And look, footprints." Ruruko noticed. I ran to Ruruko and investigated the footprints. "Hmm, this was done by something with bird qualities. Because normal birds don't prey on full grown cows." I said.
Suddenly, we heard people screaming. We turn to see something attacking the farm. "HANK! Everyone, let's go." Sona said before running off. We followed her.
(POV CHANGE: 3RD PERSON)
When Sona, her peerage and (Y/N) arrived, they noticed a big hole in the barn. They ran to the barn and opened the doors.
Their they've found something big feasting on a horse. The creature had a mane around it's neck, a bird's head, large wings with claws on it, a long tail with fur at the end & it's back legs resembles that of a feline's.

(Y/N) grabbed his sword and approached the beast. "Girls, get ready." (Y/N) instructed. Sona and her peerage didn't know what he meant, but they nodded.
(Y/N) charged, catching the beast's attention. It flew up, but couldn't get a good distance due to the small area of the barn's interior. (Y/N)'s sword cuts the beast's skin on it's leg before it flew away.
(Y/N) put his sword back before turning towards everyone. "Ok girls, this is now officially your very first Griffin Hunt." (Y/N) said, shocking everyone. "That Griffin can run, but it can't hide." (Y/N) said, gesturing towards the blood on the ground.
"Everyone ready to track down and kill a Griffin?" (Y/N) asked, causing everyone's skin to pale. But Sona shook pass her fear. "We're ready." She said, adjusting her glasses. "And so are we." Everyone else said, causing me to chuckle. "Ok then but be warned, a wounded Griffin is no push over, so be prepared for the worst." (Y/N) said, as everyone nodded.
We left the barn and found the Griffin's blood trail. "Ok then, let's find this Griffin." (Y/N) announces as he and Sona's peerage started to follow the blood trail.
(And that's Chapter 8. Looks like (Y/N) and Sona's peerage will go and hunt down a Griffin, but will they be able to kill the Griffin? Or will the Griffin kill them? Find out on the next Chapter.)
