NOT LONG TILL IMACELEB!! ❤️
Dec's POV
I settled comfortably back in my wheel chair, watching with interest as Ant wheeled us through the streets. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw an alley way that led into a large expanse of green. I felt a lump in my throat and turned away.
"You wanna go in the park?" Anthony asked from behind me.
"No." I grumbled, pouting slightly.
"Suit yourself." There was a silence and I fiddled with the hem of my sweater, thinking about how I kinda really did want to go to the park. But I wanted to run about the park, play footie and climb a tree. I didn't want to sit by the side and stare creepily at the people enjoying themselves. "Hey... uh... I know this cafe just round the corner... do you wanna maybe get some lunch?"
I twisted slightly in my chair to look at Ant, he ducked his head shyly and looked away. "I dunno... it's a bit early for lunch ain't it?"
"Well... brunch then? Or just get a cup of tea? Eh... You don't have to if you don't want to."
"No... I do want to... but is it busy?"
"Not at this time of day, it's a family owned cafe. Quite small and quiet."
"O-okay..." I said, swallowing my nerves.
Ant was right, we were really close to the cafe, it didn't look like much from the outside in all honesty. It had a little rustic sign at the top that said 'Minty's Cafe'. The design was colourful and fairly modern but it also had a warm vintage feel.
I couldn't give the welcoming aesthetics my full attention though when my eyes landed on the 4 steps that lead up to a narrow doorway. My face paled.
"Shit" I herd Ant mumbled under his breath, I bowed my head and blinked back the sting of tears. He just wants to get food but when you're here he can't even get through the door. Nice going freak.
"Um... I don't think your chairs gonna fit... can I carry you in?"
"N-no... it's fine... you have lunch, Uh... I'll wait out here."
"What? No... god Dec..." Ant walked around and crouched down in front of me so we were on the same level. He smiled kindly at me but there was a hint of sadness behind it, he ran a tender hand through my hair as he continued, "Of course im not gonna leave you out here, I wanted to spend time with you. You Declan, I don't care about the food. I can walk us back if you want? We can have lunch at yours." He said standing up but even if I was just imagining it, I could see the disappointment in his features and felt humiliation and guilt wash over me. But I didn't want to let him down.
I grabbed hold of his sleeve before he'd stood up, the taller boy looked down at me- his head tilted slightly in curiosity. "I-if it's not busy... um you can carry me."
"Dec you don't need to put yourself through anything you're not comfortable with... really I don't mind going back."
"No, please... I want to go in... Im just... just s-scared." I mumbled shyly, Ant placed a supportive hand on my shoulder before coming round beside me.
"You sure about this?" He asked cautiously and I nodded, swallowing down my pride and anxiety. I felt my heart speed up, images of me being carried into a room full of people filling my mind.
