BTS - Train to Busan

Chapter 9 :

Hoseok panted heavily and he tried to contain his tears because both he and Jungkook had to make it out alive. He couldn't bear the thought of losing his other members too. It was already traumatizing knowing Taehyung had become infected but witnessing Jimin die before his eyes were just too much to handle.

He grabbed Jungkook's wrist and they both ducked behind a seat.

Jungkook peered over and saw the zombies standing around cluelessly. They were blocking the exit of the cart to Jungkook's frustration. They were still in the tunnel so if they were fast enough, they could make it out alive.

Hoseok and Jungkook both crawled under the seats, feeling very paranoid about making a sound.

Once they were near the exit, they tiptoed to the door. Luckily for them, the zombies were completely oblivious as they were looking in the opposite direction.

Hoseok and Jungkook got out of the cart. Jungkook closed the door just in the nick of time because the train had exited out of the tunnel.

Jungkook sat down onto a seat, staring blankly at the floor. Both of them were silent as their minds replayed what happened in the previous cart.

Jungkook's cries broke the silence as he cupped his face. He lowered his face as he let tears roll down his cheeks. Hoseok stared sadly at the maknae and patted him on the back. They lost Taehyung, now Jimin.

''Why him, Hoseok hyung? Why Jiminie!?'' Jungkook wailed louder. It was a very rare sight to see Jungkook in his vulnerable state since he always tried to put a brave face on.

''I know we lost both of them but we have to continue fighting, Kookie. For both Taehyung and Jimin.'' Hoseok said quietly. Jungkook just shook his head.

''I don't want to do this anymore, hyung. Fuck, I don't want any of this to happen!'' Jungkook sniffed, wiping his tears away with his hand.

''None of us want to do this, Gguk. We have no choice though..'' Hoseok's voice wavered, on the verge of another breakdown.

Jungkook didn't say anything and closed his eyes. As much as he hated to admit it, Hoseok was right. If they wanted to survive, they had to continue fighting no matter how discouraged and exhausted they were.

It's either life or death.

Jungkook stood up and raised his head up to meet Hoseok's red eyes. Jungkook walked closer to Hoseok before engulfing him into a tight hug.

Hoseok closed his eyes and laid his head against Jungkook's shoulder. Exchanges of heavy breathing could be heard in the room. Jungkook poked Hoseok's cheeks, making the aforementioned smile shyly. Jungkook felt good seeing his hyung smile in what seemed like forever and it felt even better knowing he made that smile appear on Hoseok's beautiful face.

After a few minutes, they pulled apart. Hoseok turned around and stared at the door. Jungkook knew what he was thinking.

''Hyung, we can't go in. There is no tunnel for five minutes.'' Jungkook notified him.

''I don't care.'' Hoseok dismissed Jungkook's warning and stood up, walking closer to the door. His face was full of rage.

''Don't open it,'' Jungkook warned Hoseok but the aforementioned ignored his warning.

Hoseok glanced at Jungkook then at the door. He swung the cart door open, alerting the infected mob.
