Namjoon's eyes hadn't left the ground ever since Jin had died. Not a single word had escaped his lips. He was completely mute.
He wanted nothing to do with the small boy but he knew he had to keep the kid safe as he didn't want Jin's sacrifice to go to waste.
The four boys walked without saying a single word. Jungkook wiped back his tears and tried to keep his breath steady. Yoongi sobbed hard. The young child squeezed Yoongi's hand for comfort. Yoongi sighed and looked down at the kid who gave him a sad smile. Yoongi cracked a weak smile at the kid's attempts to cheer him up.
''Guys.. I'll go find a train. You stay put here, okay?'' Yoongi advised them, wiping his tears. Namjoon's eyes darted to him immediately.
''Are you kidding? It's not safe to be alone here, Yoongles! We have to stay as a group!'' He protested. Yoongi shook his head.
''Joon! I'll be fine. Just trust me,'' He exclaimed, pointing towards a supposedly abandoned train.
''I'm just scared, Yoongi..'' Namjoon's voice trailed off hesitantly.
''I'll be okay. If you believe what I say then, one, two, three.'' Yoongi reassured him gently.
Namjoon couldn't help but break into a soft smile at his hyung's reference and Jungkook pretended to gag making the little kid giggle.
Yoongi waved at the trio and ran off to investigate the train. He looked behind his shoulders a couple of times to make sure no zombies were following him. When the coast was clear, he quickly hopped onto the train.
He tried to close the door behind him but it was clogged up.
''Fuck.. Aw, come on..'' Yoongi muttered to himself in annoyance.
He looked around the empty cart before attempting to break down the door.
Yoongi breathed in heavily. How the hell was he going to break down the door without any tools to assist him? It wouldn't hurt to try.
Yoongi took a few steps back before slamming his body against the door hard. It created a dent but it was not enough to break down the door.
Yoongi winced in pain and was feeling discouraged. He searched around the cart in despair, hoping to find something that would be useful but there was nothing that he could use.
Suddenly, he heard faint screaming and he tried to control his breathing as his heartbeat quicken.
Yoongi peered out of the window and spotted a businessman running towards the same train he was in. The same businessman who held Jin down to the ground. Yoongi felt no desire to help the businessman and continued to stare at the man running for his life, somewhat amused by this scene.
Yoongi's smirk slowly faded and it turned into a concerned frown when he spotted three zombies trailing closely behind the businessman. He also panicked when he saw the guy running towards the train he was in.
''Oh god.. No, no, no..'' He mumbled, clearly panicked.
His eyes lingered on the businessman and he grew even more panicked. He took a few steps back, his mind blank.
Suddenly, the door flung open and the businessman leapt in. He grabbed Yoongi's shoulders and dug his nails into his shoulder. Yoongi flinched because of the pain flaring up in his shoulder.
The man then aggressively shoved Yoongi to the now unclogged door, making him crash against something.. Well, someone.
The businessman didn't stop for a second to take a look over his shoulder as he bolted out of the train.
Yoongi felt a wave of dread rush over him when he heard the familiar growling. His stomach did a backflip and he felt like he was about to throw up any second when he realised that he was about to die.
'Oh god.. This is it,' He thought to himself helplessly.
The zombie lunged forward and bit into Yoongi's already bruised shoulder, making Yoongi cry out in pain. He fell to the ground, hugging his knees tightly to his chest and sobbed hard because of how unbearable the pain was.
The zombie hurriedly exited out of the train, leaving Yoongi to bleed to death on the ground.
Yoongi's breath hitched and his breath became unsteady as he cried his heart out. Blood was oozing out of his shoulder and he felt a weird sensation run through his body.
Yoongi looked down at his hand and felt like the air had been knocked out of his body when he saw his skin transforming into a disgusting colour of green. Yoongi felt sick to his stomach just observing his once pale skin turn into green.
'I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to my loved ones,' He thought bitterly.
Yoongi had never thought his life would be cut so short. He immediately regretted taking his life for granted and realised that he should have been thankful for what he had.
Yoongi's eyes began to droop and it slowly closed. It was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.
Yoongi embraced his last moments being alive and was left to rot and die alone on the train.
