Meanwhile, the girl who tried her best to defend her idols from the harsh comments given by the passengers was seated at the near end of the cart, staring blankly at the zombies who were eyeing her through the cart door. However, she noticed one familiar face and felt tears well up in her eyes when she realised it was Jung Hoseok. Her ultimate bias.
''You're so dumb, Hobi. Willing to sacrifice yourself to protect others. So dumb.'' She muttered to herself wistfully.
The more she stared at Hoseok wandering around mindlessly in the crowd of infected people, the more she felt herself getting pissed off.
'They could have easily saved Hoseokie if it weren't for that business bitch,' She thought bitterly, clenching her knuckles so hard, they were turning white.
After a few minutes of thinking, the girl stood up and took a deep breath.
''I'm doing this for the boys. I don't even care if I die. I always wanted to anyway.'' She mumbled before walking up to the door.
The businessman had kept a close eye on the girl and when he saw her approaching the door, he panicked and yelled for the other passengers to stop her. Unfortunately, it was too late.
It was complete and utter chaos. The zombies were let loose and a deadly massacre occurred in the cart, resulting in a lot of deaths.
Namjoon nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard the cries and shrieks from the previous cart. Jin pulled Namjoon to his chest, giving him a sense of safety.
''Did they get infected?'' Namjoon asked, getting a nod from Jungkook.
''Serves them right,'' Jin commented.
''Except that fangirl though. She was a sweetheart.'' Namjoon added.
Yoongi opened his mouth to say something but before he could speak, an announcement was made.
''Attention, please. Due to track blockage, we have arrived at East Daegu Station. Please be patient as we have to wait for a rescue team or disembarking for another Train to Busan. When this announcement is concluded, I will find a working train and put it on the far left track. I repeat, the far left track. If you're one of the remaining passengers still alive, please transfer safely. Godspeed.'' The train conductor declared through the speakers. Everyone glanced at each other, clearly bewildered.
''What the hell..? What's happening?'' Jungkook enquired, raising an eyebrow.
''I don't know.. I just hope we'll be safe.'' Jin sighed.
- A Few Minutes Later -
''The train has arrived at the station. Come on, guys. Let's go.'' Namjoon ushered his bandmates out of the train.
The four of them stuck together closely, wandering around the station cluelessly that was supposedly taking them to the safety of Busan. They've lost their brothers along the way, so they didn't know what else was in store for them.
Jungkook pointed towards a train and tugged his members forward to investigate it.
Suddenly, the zombies rushed towards the window and violently rattled it, startling the four boys.
''Jesus, I nearly had a heart attack,'' Namjoon gasped, clutching his heart.
Whilst they were searching for safety, the businessman and the train conductor were stuck in a restroom, hiding from the zombies prowling the bathroom door. The train conductor asked if the coast was clear. The businessman peered through the crack of the door and could see the zombies were still lurking in the cart. He lied to the conductor, saying that no zombies were insight. The train conductor took his word for it and stepped outside. The second the train conductor stepped outside, he got pounced on by an infected person. The selfish businessman seized his chance to escape and he bolted out of the train.
In the meantime, the boys were beginning to lose all hope. They began to walk back to where they had started until Namjoon screamed at the top of his lungs, alerting his bandmates.
''GUYS! A TRAIN! IT'S ON FIRE! WATCH OUT!'' He shouted. The train was coming at an incredibly fast speed. The boys were stunned and anticipated for the worst.
''OI! THERE'S A KID THERE!'' Jin shrieked, pointing at a young boy who was oblivious to the train on fire. He was alone and looked visibly shaken up.
''Jin, we can't make our way to him! There's no time!'' Namjoon pleaded with him desperately, gripping his hand.
Jin, however, felt his heart ache to watch the boy break down into tears when he finally noticed the train on fire.
No way was he going to let the boy die. He had this whole life ahead of himself. He didn't deserve to die.
''Joon, I can't leave him alone!'' Jin shot back, shooting glances at the little boy.
''You're going to die too! I can't- I won't let you die, I just can't..'' Namjoon's voice trailed off as his eyes were trickling with tears.
Jin's expression of his face softened when he saw how afraid Namjoon was about losing him. Little things like this meant so much to Jin and he reminded himself for the thousandth time how lucky he was to have Namjoon in his life.
''Baby.. I don't have much time. I'll die but I'll die doing the right thing.'' Jin said gently, stroking his boyfriend's face with his hands.
''N-no.. Please Jin.. Don't do this to me. I'll die without you, please. Don't leave us.'' Namjoon begged weakly and he was now full-on sobbing. Jin felt his heart shatter into one million pieces when he saw Namjoon crying. It was rare but sad to witness. Namjoon clutched Jin's waist firmly, wanting to bask in his boyfriend's presence for the last time.
Yoongi and Jungkook watched the couple silently as realisation washed over them. They were going to lose Jin too. The thought was too much to bear but the fact that it was becoming a reality was a complete shock. It felt like a ton of bricks had hit them.
Jin looked at the boys before lowering his head down. He felt like crying but he inhaled deeply, trying to fight back his emotions.
''I'm sorry. I love you guys. So damn much'' Jin whispered quietly. He removed Namjoon's hands on his waist before running as fast as he could to reach the kid. Tears were streaming down his face as he looked back at his cherished friends and his boyfriend for the very last time.
''JIN, NO!'' Namjoon screamed, lunging forward. Yoongi and Jungkook held him back tightly. They watched as the two trains collided with each other and it collapsed.
Jin was cradling the hysterical boy in his arms. They were underneath the cart full of infected people.
The zombies were aggressively pressing their faces against the window, making it crack.
Jin suspected the worst was about to happen and encouraged the boy to run to his bandmates. The boy was hesitant about leaving his rescuer alone but Jin demanded him to listen to him. The boy thanked Jin with a grateful smile before making a mad dash towards the three boys.
The cracking of the windows of the cart was becoming louder and Jin gulped nervously, crawling back.
It didn't take long for the zombies to break down the door and they didn't waste any time attacking Jin who was too weak to do anything. He had accepted his fate and sadly smiled to himself, knowing that he died for a good reason and he was going to be reunited with Jimin, Taehyung, and Hoseok.
