BTS - Train to Busan

Chapter 15 :

The young boy nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard Yoongi's deafening scream. Jungkook pulled the kid closer to him and put an arm around him, immediately calming down the terrified boy.

There was a brief silence between the three as they processed what had happened to their now-deceased member.

''That was definitely Yoongi..'' Namjoon sighed deeply, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

''Oh my god, hyungie... Why is this happening to us? Why.." Jungkook whispered in a shaky voice, his voice nearly inaudible.

Namjoon put an arm around the devastated man and felt tears roll down his own cheeks rapidly.

'We started as seven. Now, it's just us two,' He thought to himself in dismay.

The small child patted Namjoon and Jungkook's arms awkwardly as he didn't know how to calm down his devastated hyungs. He let them let out their emotions without saying a word. It was a heartbreaking sight to see.

''Hey, you.. Little guy.. w-what's your name..'' Namjoon managed to ask as he stared down at the little boy through his blurry tears.

''Taehyun'' The boy answered quickly, ''Just call me Tae.''

Namjoon smiled slightly at Taehyun's statement as the aforementioned's name reminded him of a certain somebody.

''A-and.. y-your age?'' Jungkook managed to ask, trying to control his voice from wavering.

''I'm 9. My father was a massive fan of you guys,'' He admitted, tilting his head down to the ground.

''Oh.. What happened to your father, Tae?'' Jungkook inquired curiously. He had a gut feeling something terrible had happened to his father.

Jungkook immediately regretted asking Taehyun the question because he saw how the child shook his head and let out a deep sigh.

''H-he.. got attacked by a zombie..''

Again, there was an unnerving silence. Jungkook felt awful about reminding Taehyun about his dead father. Namjoon studied Taehyun's actions carefully. He was breathing heavily as if he was using his willpower to not break down in tears.

Namjoon and Jungkook were shocked but not surprised. This plague was horrendous and cost the lives of thousands of people across the nation. This was definitely going to go down as one of the worst plagues in history.

''I'm sorry for your loss..'' Namjoon sympathised with Taehyun gently.

The aforementioned raised his head and managed to smile weakly at Namjoon who just gave him a sympathetic smile in return.

Jungkook opened his mouth to say something but before he could, he got distracted by loud noises coming from the zombies who were looking around the train station.

''Fu- I mean, shoot! You guys!'' Jungkook whisper shouted, pointing his finger towards the mob of clueless zombies.

''Oh, for god sake. Guys, let's go!'' Namjoon ushered Jungkook and Taehyun to run faster.

Suddenly, Taehyun tripped on his foot, losing his balance and making him hit the ground with a thud.

He let out a yelp, immediately alerting the infected mob. Their heads lifted up to the sound and when they saw Taehyun lying on the ground, they made a mad dash to him.

Jungkook hurriedly lifted Taehyun off his feet and flung him over his shoulders.

The zombies were in hot pursuit as they chased down the trio. Jungkook felt his legs becoming weaker and weaker but he wasn't going to give up.
