After getting acquainted with Judd's friends, Alix felt at peace for once; up until a certain prissy bitch decided to rear her head into the two's business

Judd, side-eyeing the approaching girl, lightly tightened his grasp on Alix's waist, causing her to tense up and see what was causing it.

Meeting eyes with Robin, Alix tensed up even more, making Judd realize why she was tense in the first place and tensed up even more.

"Robin?"

"Yes, Judd?"

She batted her lashes, and swayed, trying to seem as attractive as possible to her ex-lover

"Get the fuck out of here"

The sternness in his voice stung Robin, retaliating, she replied,

"Relax, Juddie, I'm only here for Val"

Shining her pearly whites at the Hispanic, she effortlessly glided toward him, getting too close to Judd and Alix

Protectively pulling Alix closer to his body, Judd felt the girl melt into him, feeling comforted and at ease.

Hours passed by and nightfall was coming. Judd and Alix retreated to his car to drive home; but Alix had other ideas first,

"So..."

"So?"

"Partner, huh?"

Taking a deep breath before responding to Alix, the girl tried looking into Judd's eyes, an eyebrow cocked.

"I didn't want to call you my friend because then people would think that you were available"

"Am I not available?"

"Depends on how you answer my question next week"

Speechless, Alix sat there. Trying to muster up the words to tell Judd how she felt, but they never came.

Driving back to the Birch house, parking in his unofficial designated spot, and coaxing Alix to stay another night, Lia peeped through her bedroom curtains to spy on the two bickering in the driveway

"I'm just saying, I want the time that I ask you to be special; not by some trash fire"

"I get that, but you don't get to choose my relationship status if we aren't even a thing!"

"Alix, we can talk about this later. But first, let's head inside, okay? It looks like it's about to rain"

Droplets of cold, wet rain started to fall down in the neighborhood, the downpour only intensifying as time passed

Holding Alix's hand without interlocking fingers, not to spark any irrational outbursts from the already disgruntled girl, Judd led her to his bed, which was surprisingly made; considering the consequences of those who trespassed
