Next Day Troubles

I woke up still cuddling with Chibs but at the moment dad and him were talking about something. I heard dad say something that sounded like did you tell her but I couldn't really hear them. When I started moving around dad asked if I was okay.
"Yeah dad I'm fine I just wanna go home." I hadn't realized I'd snuggled closer to Chibs as I said it.
"Okay well, the cops are outside wanting to talk to you about the whole thing. Are you ready?"
"Yes, I think so when does he get out?"
"I'm not sure honey but I'll send them in." Dad opened the door and Chibs and him left. "Unser, Hale she's ready."
"Good morning Y/n," Hale said walking in and closing the door.
"Morning doll." Unser has always called me doll.
"Good morning guys." I smiled hoping that they might not notice how scared I was.
"Y/n we need to know what happened the other night."
"I know." I took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. "Dad had dropped me off and then he went to the clubhouse I was sitting on the couch and I heard something drop upstairs. So I went to look but I heard someone talking so I called dad and Jax and Chibs and then Happy. That's when Kevin came down and I started backing up and he was claiming that his not getting into college and his parents not wanting anything to do with him was my fault and so he kept getting closer and then I saw the knife. He kept getting closer and then he started saying that he had to be fast to make sure I died this time and that after he was going to turn himself in so that the club couldn't find him or get him and he said something about saying it was self-defense. After he stabbed me he tore my shirt as a trophy or something." I was in tears and Hale had walked over hugging me.
"He's going to jail I promise." I just nodded not being able to stop the tears.
*Hales POV*
We left the hospital and went to the station. "So Kevin which one of you is lying Y/n or you?"
"Her most likely."
"Well, would you consent to a lie detector test?"
He was quiet for a while "yeah if that's what it'll take for me to be cleared."
"That's what it would take." I walked out of the interview room only to be greeted by Jax. "How can I help you today Jax?"
"Nothing just came to make sure he's still locked up."
"Yeah and he agreed to a lie detector test so we'll know that he's lying for sure and have more evidence on him."
"Okay, so there ain't no chance you'd let us handle it."
"No. I think she'd like it better if he was in jail and she had you and the club for safety."
"Yeah, but she'd feel safer if he was completely in jail not in a police station."
"Look I care about her the same as you guys do maybe a little bit more but it doesn't change the law." He just walked out
Yes, I would have done it for her but I don't see how that would help her at this point. I just hope that Jax keeps our conversation between us I don't need him using my feelings for her against me.
*Y/n's POV*
Dad had Half-Sack stationed outside my door and I didn't know where Jax had gone off to. "Half-Sack" he didn't hear me so I throw my pillow at the door which got his attention.
"Y/n what do you need?"
"I need out of this bed so will you get Tara or someone please."
"Yeah, one sec." After a while, he and Tara come in.
"So where would you like to go today," Tara asked
"I'm not sure, I just can't just can't lay here all day."
"Okay how about we go see Able?" I nodded and tried to stand up only for her to stop me. "I'm not sure that you're ready to try walking yet Y/n because of the fact the knife might have hit your spine."
"Tara I'm gonna have to try sometime."
"Just not today please." They got me in the wheelchair and we were on our way. Jax was in with Able when we got there.
"Jax where did you go after they interviewed me?"
"I need to clear my head. Hey, I think Hale might have feelings or something for you." He started laughing at that comment
"And what makes you say that?"
"The fact that I went to talk to him about Kevin and he told me that he cares about you the same as us or maybe more even."
"That doesn't mean anything he could just see me like family." Does Hale like more than family I mean I'm only 18 and he's the same age as Jax or older. I didn't notice that Chibs had walked in when Jax said the Hale comment.
"Brother I need to talk to you," Chibs said making me jump.
"Chibs can we talk after you two talk?"
"Sure Lass it might be tomorrow or sometime later because something came up."
"He's out isn't he?" The whole room went quiet
"He can't be out I just got back from talking to Hale and he said he's in there at least another day," Jax said patting my shoulder and walking out.
*Chibs POV*
Jax told Y/n that Hale might like her more than family which got my jealousy going.
"Brother I need to talk to you," Chibs said making me jump.
"Chibs can we talk after you two talk?"
"Sure Lass it might be tomorrow or sometime later because something came up."
"He's out isn't he?" The whole room went quiet
"He can't be out I just got back from talking to Hale and he said he's in there at least another day," Jax said patting Y/n's shoulder then met me in the hall.
"What it is?"
"They let him out early because the didn't have the evidence to hold him."
"Seriously."
"Yeah."
"Fuck. Where is he?"
"They don't know they dropped him off at a hotel but he knocked out the police officer that was set there to keep him there and then lost him."
"Fuck, we need to get half-sack and a couple other stationed at her door when we get back." He started walking off.
"Where are you going?"
"To talk to a couple people."
*Hale's POV*
"Isn't there something we can do to keep him here?"
"No, if there was I'd do it because jail would serve him better then what the guy'll do to him." Unser said "we'll set a cop-out front so he can't get out and to her and when the evidence comes back we'll get him right back here."
A call came in a little later from the hotel saying that the cop was knocked out and the room door was opened. Great, he's escaped.
"Unser he's out of the hotel."
"Shit"
"Hale you and I need to talk now."
"Jax it wasn't my choice."
"It wasn't his choice it was mine."
"Yeah well, I need to talk to Hale at the moment." We walked to my office. "You claim you like her and care about her and turn around and release the guy that did it to her." I felt his fist hit me.
"Like I said it wasn't my choice to let him go."
"You realize that I have to set more people to watch her room now because he can't get past them like he did the cop." And walked out he's right the only way she's safe is with them.
*Y/n's POV*
Half-sack took me back to my room because he said I need to rest. "Half-Sack tell me the truth he's out isn't he?"
"Yes but you're safe we aren't going to let him near you."
"Okay." I got back in bed and was laying there when I heard something from the bathroom. "Half-Sack, can you get Chibs or dad for me?"
"Yeah, I'll call them."
He went for the door but I stopped "will you stay till they get here?"
"Yeah sure." He sat in the chair in the corner waiting for one of them to show up with Happy outside the door. "So why'd you want me to stay in the room with you?"
"I'm not sure I just feel safer I guess."
"But I don't have a gun all I got is a knife."
"And a dull one at that prospect." Happy said opening the door.
"I'll switch you."
"Fine." Happy came and stood by my bed and Half went out to watch the door.
"Happy what happens if you guys don't find him?"
"What makes you think that the cops don't have him as we talk?"
"Because you're here instead of Tig or them."
"True, we'll find him Y/n."
"But if you guys don't?"
"Then we'll have someone with you at all times, but we'll find him." Dad came in right after that and Happy hugged me and walked out.
"Dad did you find him." He shock his head. "Okay." My stomach started to grumble and dad started laughing.
"I'll go get you some food."
"Okay." He left and I was alone for a while when all of a sudden the bathroom door opened reviling Kevin and his dad.
"Look Y/n Kevin isn't gonna be anywhere near you ever again I swear but just get the crew to back off."
"He tried to kill me."
"And I should have succeeded and I have no clue how I didn't."
It was quiet for a little tell Kevin lunged at me just as Hale walked into my room. "Hale."
"Get off her or I'll shoot."
"You'll have to shoot me." I was trying to fight him off when I heard a gunshot.
I got free of Kevin just long enough to see Hale on the ground. "HALE." I looked at Kevin's dad and saw a gun. "HAPPY Hel...." my door opened and someone shot but Kevin's weight dropped on me and I gasped for air.
"Drop the gun traitor."
"Happy he's my kid."
"He's a killer now drop it the traitor." He put the gun away and Happy walked behind him and walked him out of the room after getting Kevin off me. As Hale started to get up he looked at Kevin's body and then Happy.
"I shot the kid and the kid's dad shot me but got away," Hale said looking at Happy and I. We both nodded and Happy took Kevin's dad out of the room and outside as dad and Tara walked in.
"OMG." Tara said running to Kevin "he's dead."
"I had to shoot him he was trying to kill Y/n."
"We heard shots."
"Yeah after Hale shot Kevin his dad shot Hale and ran off."
"Oh, are you okay Honey?"
"Yeah, I think so I just want out of the hospital."
"You'll be here a little longer till we're sure that your stable to take care of yourself," Tara said looking at me
I started to stand up and used my bed as a stabilizer and started walking to the bathroom. "You aren't supposed to be walking yet Honey."
"Dad I have to pee, and I'd like to do it by myself."
"Damn you're stubborn aren't you." Tara said laughing "call me if you need help getting out of it."
"Bobby we need you outside. Lass you aren't supposed to be walking." Chibs walked in.
"Chibs I'm fine but I still need to talk to you when you're free."
"I know Lass and it'll be soon." Dad and him left and I walked into the bathroom. Soon after I got out and was walking back to my bed when I tripped over a cord and almost fell, had Tara not been there I would have.
"Tara can I ask you something"
"Sure Y/n what's on your mind?"
"Why'd you leave Charming?"
"I needed a break from Charming and me at the time here wasn't meant to be."
"Oh okay do you think maybe you and Jax will get back together?"
"I'm not looking for a relationship so probably not." Jax came in and Tara left.
"How you doing Y/n?"
"I'm fine. What's going to happen to him?"
"We'll vote and it's up to the vote."
"Oh, I can I see him when I get out?"
"No we vote tonight and he'll probably be out of Charming when you get out."
"If Tara clears me to go outside for some fresh air can I see him."
"Why do you want to see him?"
"Because I want to know why." As I finished my sentence Tara walked in. "Tara, if I go in the wheelchair, can Jax take me outside for some fresh air?"
"I don't see why not but you have to stay in the wheelchair." I nodded my head and stood up and walked over to the wheelchair. "Be careful and not too long outside okay." We got outside and Happy walked over.
"Hey Y/n how are you feeling?"
"Fine but I want to ask him why he did it."
"I don't approve."
"Happy I need to know why."
"Fine but I'm going to be there the whole time."
"Fine." We went and talked to him. "Why did you help him get to me."
"Because he's family. He's my kid it wasn't because anything about you it's just he's family. I'm sorry."
"It's fine I just needed to know why." Jax started to push my back into the hospital when Chibs walked over.
"Why'd you let her talk to him."
"Because I wanted to know why."
"Can you push her in because I have to go see my mom."
"Yeah." Chibs took over pushing me to my room.
"Why'd you leave?"
"I need to check something Lass." We got back to the room and I got back into bed and he went to leave.
"Chibs will you stay?"
"Why do you want me to stay?"
"Because I just do, Please."
"Fine." He went to sit in the chair
"Chibs." I moved to make room for him. He just sighed and laid down. I cuddled closer to him and ended up falling asleep. I woke up to him leaving. "Where are you going?"
"It's about time to vote and then I'm heading home."
"Oh, okay night."
"Night Lass" he left and I tried to get back to sleep but I couldn't find a comfortable place. A few hours past and it was daylight outside. Tara came in and talked to me to make sure everything was going okay.
"Hey, Tara how long tell I can go home."
"In a couple of days."
"A couple like two or a couple like three or more?"
"A couple like hopefully two if everything goes good but no pushing yourself on walking."
"I just want to go home now."
"I know but you can't at the moment."
*a couple of days later*
"Tara can I finally go home."
"Yes but you need to be careful not to fall and not to push yourself too much."
"I know and I won't, I promise."
"Okay and I'll be around if you need me here's my number."
"Okay, thanks Tara have a nice day."
Dad drove me home and we stay quiet for most the drive. When we pulled up Chibs was there and he acted like I wasn't there. "Bobby the club needs you."
"Okay, can you stay with Y/n."
"They need me also but Half-Sack is waiting at the clubhouse if you want to drop her off there."
We left and pulled up to the clubhouse and Teller-Morrow. I slowly walked over to the office and talked with Gemma. "They let me out."
"I see why aren't you home?"
"The club needed dad."
"Oh."
"Hey can I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure, what's on your mind."
"Is Chibs pissed at me or something like he acted like I wasn't in the car and then he hasn't come with dad to check on me or anything."
"It's nothing you've done it's more or less family stuff."
"Family stuff?"
"That is his place to tell you not mine."
"Just a small hint?"
"No, I can't."
"Fine do you need any help doing to paperwork or anything that involves sitting that I can do to keep my mind at bay?"
"Not that I can think of." After a while, dad climbed on his bike and took off. Great, I'm gonna be here for a while.
"Lass come on I'm driving you home and stayin till your dad gets back."
"Okay, I'm coming." He walked over to his bike.
"Perfect time to ask him those questions you asked me, sweets," Gemma said I started walking out of the room.
"Yeah, I guess." I got on his bike with his help and when we got to my house he helped off. "Chibs can I ask you something." I didn't get an actual answer he just looked at me. "Is that a yes or a no?"
"Yes."
"Why have you been avoiding me."
"I haven't I just been busy."
"Busy with what," I said yawning.
"Club stuff and other stuff. Are you tired or something?"
"Yeah, I haven't been sleeping well the past couple nights." It must have been lack of sleep or something because I found myself walking over to Chibs and kissing him. To my surprise, he kissed back a slowly started to deepened the kiss. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He took me inside and up the stairs to my room. He laid us on the bed and broke the kiss.
"Lass I think you need sleep."
"But..."
"No, buts get some sleep I'll be up in a few to check on you."
"No, stay please." It slipped out as he was about to walk out of the room.
"Okay only for a few."
"Night Filip."
"Night Lass."
