Sakura always had a special place in your heart ever since you were born, the both of your parents were family friends so naturally you both drifted towards each other. The two of you did everything together, and you were always there for her, even when she joined AKB48. You always made sure to visit her and make sure that she was doing alright. So you also managed to make some friends with her members.
But of course one always has to end up catching feelings in situations like this. And sadly it had to be you. It started when you just turned 7, the two of you were playing on the swing when some mean kids showed up and tried to get the both of you to go away. Sakura had just wanted to leave but you knew how much she wanted to play. So you stood up for her, you puffed your tiny chest and stood right in front of the swings, not budging at all. But you were facing off against kids 4 to 5 years older than you, and you were no match for them.
Defeated you stood up from the ground, with bloody hands and knees and a small cut on your cheek. "Y/N! Are you okay?" Sakura shouted worried, running to your side and helping you up. You looked at the swings a few metres away and directed your eyes towards the ground, fiddling your fingers as tears started to cloud your eyes. "I'm sorry for not being able to keep the swings.." you said, a tear dropping to the ground. "Don't say that silly! We can play on the swings another time! But you're bleeding, we should get that fixed. Lets go back to your mums house." She said concerned as she rubbed her finger over your bloody cheek. It heating up at the action. She took your hand in hers and pulled you away from the playground.
And that's how you started having feelings for her. You didn't realise you loved her until at least 7 years later, when you were 14 years old. You asked your mum why your heart started beating like crazy every time you were around her, and why you were willing to travel the world and back for her. And she told you you loved her, which seemed impossible for you. The two of you have been best friends for so long, why would you love her? And so you denied it at first, but quickly you realised you really did love her.
And now you're here, balling your eyes out as she's leaving to go to South Korea to participate on PRODUCE 48. "Sakura, do you really have to go? I already get limited time to see you while you're in AKB and now you're going to a whole other country!" You loudly said while holding both her hands. "I have to Y/N, this is another way for me to prove myself. Besides, you know the CEO is also making me go." She said while sobbing herself. "It's not fair. You know that I can't just fly to South Korea to see you." You said to her, stray tears falling onto your shirt. "I know, but we'll get though it, and once I'm back I'll make sure to go to you first." She said as she wiped away some tears with the pads of her thumbs. "All passengers to South Korea requested to get to the plane." Sounded through the huge airport and tears started to fall again, you had now idea how long you weren't going to see her, you knew you had to confess now.
