You always heard your mum talk about how friendship was forever, how you would keep those people around forever. You thought she was right, you always thought your mum was right. You thought she was right even when your former best friend Jennie moved away to New Zealand to pursue her studies there, the two of you kept in contact for two months before it all faded. You thought she was right even when your friend Jungwoo suddenly distanced himself from you, stating that he didn't feel like he wanted to hang out with you anymore, your mum made you believe he was just joking. You haven't talked to him since last year.

But now that Jinsoul left, you felt like she wasn't always right about everything she told you. You finally started to realise that mums aren't always right. And that they simply lie to keep their children away from hurt and sadness. And you hated her for it, because you never had anything to compare this to, you didn't know what it would feel like to suddenly lose someone so important to you. And it just made it hurt so much more.

You huffed as you sat down at the lunch table, eyes swollen and red from all the crying you did over the weekend. Your tears had dried since then, but you still felt just as shitty as in the beginning.

"Jesus, what's your problem?" Your friend Jungeun asked you before shoving a piece of apple into her mouth.

"Oh well nothing all too bad. My mother just indirectly told Jinsoul that I have feelings for her and now she doesn't want anything to do with me." You said nonchalantly as you leaned back against the chair, crossing your arms.

Suddenly you felt pieces of chewed apple fly right into your face. You sucked your teeth in annoyance and wiped the substance off with a napkin huffing in disgust. You glared at Jungeun, who sat in front of you with a shocked expression.

"SHE DID WHAT!" She screamed as she stood up from her seat, hands smacking against the table.

"Jungeun shut the fuck up!" You whisper shouted at her as you pulled her back into her seat.

"Why would she do that? Is she insane!?" Jungeun asked you as she was now leaning over the table, whisper shouting her words to make sure no one heard anything.

"I don't know why she did it, she came up with some stupid excuse. Saying that she thought Jinsoul was at the toilet. Can you believe that! The fucking toilet for fucks sake!" You huffed as you put your elbow on the table, leaning your head on your hand.

"Okay she so did that on purpose, you guys don't even have a toilet upstairs. Only one downstairs." She accused as she pointed at you with her fork before putting another piece of apple in her mouth.
