I do not own Batman, Robin, The Justice League or Young Justice.
"I'll tell you what you come in and I will release all of them," she replies in Russian "In fact I send some out right now as a gesture."
"Hostages coming out," Simon calls out looking at the officers.
A minute later a group of scared people run out of the building. He watches and blinks a shadow shifts over head. As he counts the people he also watches for anyone whose movements are too smooth.
"Great, Batman is here and Leah is probably tucked somewhere nearby if I know her," Simon thinks.
"Well Captain satisfied that is more than half of the hostages and all we need is you and the rest will be freed," Talia responds.
"Oh come now what could your client want with me? I'm just a Cop in Gotham," Simon says.
"Oh he begs to differ but it's not for us to ask details. They say you can even come in with your gun and vest. You have half an hour and then we start killing them. Oh and when we run out of them we will make a very messy and spectacular exit. It will be like what is that one movie? Die Hard?," she says before hanging up.
A man with glasses and greying flat top hair approaches.
"Captain Lee, what's the status," Commissioner Gordon asks.
"More than half the hostages have been released. They are saying they will release the rest if I go in for a talk. If I don't they will kill them and blow up the building," Captain Lee responds.
"Think we can trust them," Gordon asks.
"Yes and I would go in even if I couldn't," Simon says.
"What about your family, Ana, and the kids," Gordon asks.
"We are getting separated after the holidays. I won't face the kids knowing I could have saved some much less let those explosives go off," Captain Lee says staring at Gordon.
"Fine but you keep your vest on and gun. If you get even a whiff of things going sideways you get out," Gordon says.
As the Captain is handed a packet of papers Gordon reaches up to his ear.
"You hear that," he says as he steps away.
"Yes," a gravelly voice responds. "I'm tracking down the explosives as we speak. I'll need time but I'll keep an eye on Lee."
Captain Lee walks in fully armed and is met by a pair of thugs in ski masks while League members watch from the shadows.
"Alright, I'm here release them," he calls out.
They push him down the hall and the hostages are running down the other side of the hall. At the edge of his senses he feels a small hole. He closes his eyes for a moment.
"Leah Itsuka Lee if you don't hide yourself and get back to your Mom you are grounded until you are 30. Wrap yourself in the deepest shadows and don't come out until I say," he mentally screams.
He knew it was a risk but there aren't any other psychics around and that was the only way to mentally get a message through. Even then it might get washed away by her field.
As the last hostage passed him they turn a corner. He finds himself facing Talia Al'Ghul.
"Hello, Amant," she says with a smile.
"Really? I hear that you have someone else that better fits that title," Simon Lee says. "Now who is this client that actually got the League to do dirty work?"
