The end of the world

26 3 1

The earth cracked and crumbled
when I lost you.

Stars falling
from the sky,
like diamonds raining into the sea.

The moon fractured
like a broken mirror,
fragments falling apart
while I watched,

Leaving nothing
but an empty abyss
in the sky.

The ground opened up
beneath my feet,
a yawning black chasm
that swallowed me whole.

The fall felt like a lifetime.
