Every one of us
is stuck in a story,
that we write ourselves
through experience
and pain. You are the main character,
free to paint yourself
as a hero, or a
villain - regardless of the truth. We tell ourselves our tales
like bedtime stories, declaring whoever we want
as a protagonist, antagonist,
with the worldly-wise tone
that we project to the world,
convincing, arguing
our own version of the truth.Stuck in our own small,
close-minded narratives,
we end up afraid,losing control,
unable to break free
from the limits we unknowingly
set ourselves.Even if it seems
implausible, impossible
to think differently,
the pen is in your hands. You may not change
the last few chapters,
but you have the power
to change the storyline.
