Tutor

Normally, the school day would go by pretty quickly without even, but today just had to be different. In first hour, I sat through watching Alex lean over and kiss that blonde haired girl, which made me want to throw up. But that wasn't the worst. In the middle of my art class, the fire alarm went off. I had to stand outside, shivering in the nippy autumn air. Alex had a warm sweatshirt on, and he stood there with a scowl on his face. I look around for Topaz, but don't spot him.

"You look cold" A girl's voice says from behind me, and I turn to spot a little asian girl with a big puffy blue jacket on. She's about a foot shorter than me, and she smiles. "HI! My name is Hope. You're new here, right?" I nod at the enthusiasm of the girl. After all, what's wrong with making a friend?

"Amethyst" I hold out my hand. Topaz appears next to me suddenly, and Chelsea gapes at how tall he is. I want to laugh, but I chose not to. Hope smiles up at Topaz.

"Hi" She says, and Topaz smiles a bit. "Hope" She hold out her hand, and shake's Topaz's. Rose appears from behind Topaz, smiling at Hope.

"I'm Rose!" She shouts, and I gasp. Rose has never shouted.

"Wow you're short like me!" Hope smiles, and Topaz and I laugh. Rose finally found a human friend.

The next day, we find Hope sitting at a table in the lunch room. She scoots over, making room for us to sit. After a while of talking, I feel someone tap my shoulder. I turn and spot my english teacher. "Amethyst do you have a moment? I need your help with something" I smile at her and nod, standing up. I follow her to her office, and find Alex standing there. "I'm pretty sure you two already know each other" Alex nods, and I smile.

"Good. Amethyst, Alex is having a little problem with all of his english work. You are a straight A hard worker, so I was wondering if you could find some time to tutor him outside of school?" I look at Alex. See this mysterious boy outside of school too? I don't know if I would be able to handle it.

"Sure" My mouth defies my thoughts, and I accept my teacher's request. She smiles at me and claps her hands.

"Good! Have fun!" She shoos us out of the room, and I turn to Alex.

"Look, My brother is very protective about me having boys over so if you come over-"

"I know. Studying. No goofing off. I've heard it all before" Alex turns away from me. I sigh, taking about a piece of paper.

"Here's my address, meet me there after school. Bring your english book" I walk away from him, back to the lunch table. Topaz gives me a look and I glare at him. "What?"

"Nothing" He turns back to Hope, continuing their boring conversation from before.

Topaz took Rose over to Hope's house with him so me and Alex could work on things alone. I sit at the table, a bundle of nerves. I shouldn't be nervous about a plain old school boy, who has a basic bitchy girlfriend. Suddenly, the doorbell rings, so I run to the door and calmly open it, and let Alex in. "Hi" He says, and I smile at him. He slips off his shoes, following me into the kitchen.

"How are you not wearing a jacket? It's freezing outside"

We sit down at the island, that serves as a table, on stools, and I turn to look at Alex. "So... English stuff" I say and Alex meets my eyes.

"I need to write a paper about an issue in the world" he replies, pulling a laptop out of his bag.
