Y/N POV

I'm walking down the corridor before I turn the corner I hear a voice, I stop and listen.

"Well look who we have here, Snivellus." I growl knowing it was those four boys again picking on my little brother Severus, for reasons I don't know. I turn the corner to see that Potter has him levitating in the air upside down, he's laughing with Black and Pettigrew, Lupin though looks to not care.

"Hey!" They turn to see me glaring at them. "Let him go." Potter being the smart arse he is let's him fall with a smirk, I run to him. "Severus, are you okay?" He nods, I help him up, then walk up to Potter. "Stop picking on him, this is childish and you should grow up. All of you." I walk back to Severus and pull him to our common room rubbing his shoulder.

"I had it under control brother." I sigh.

"I know, but I was worried, you are my little brother, and I don't understand why they bully you. You're a smart and somewhat kind wizard." He pushes me and I chuckle.

"I don't either, they started first year on the train here, because I wanted to be in Slytherin." I ruffle his hair.

"I think Slytherin's a nice house, people just don't see it as the kindest house, because so many wizards in the house are rude and turn evil."

"You won't, you're too kind, I'm surprised you were allowed in Slytherin with how kind you are." I chuckle.

"There are days where I can be unkind and a little evil but only if someone's messing with my little brother." He smiles as we walk back to our common room. "Don't you fancy that Gryffindor girl, Lily Evans was it?" He sighs.

"I did, but she's dating Potter now." I pat his back.

"I'm sure you'll find someone, if you can't you can always stay with me and my cat." We laugh.

"Brother with the way you are, you could find someone."

"Yeah, but I'm fine with my cat. Speaking of my cat here he comes." My cat Alister walked up to me rubbing his head on my leg, I picked him up petting him, he purred. "Hello Alister, have you behaved today?" He meowed and I smiled, he was a grey and black tabby with beautiful green eyes and a very bad temper with other people. We sat on the couch in the common room, I scratched under Alister's chin making him purr.

"Brother, you and that cat have a bond no one else has." I chuckle.

"You're only mad because he tried to scratch you." He crossed his arms.

"He tired many times, even though we are brothers he doesn't like me very much."

"He likes you a lot more than anyone else. He tried to chew on Gilderoy once it was such a funny sight to see." I chuckle remembering it, he smiled.

"Do you still fancy him?" I roll my eyes.

"No, he's old news, I think I'll keep to my studies for now, all the guys are too childish for me." He gives me a look. "What?"

"Do you fancy one of the marauders?" My eyes widen.

"What ever gave you that idea? Those four little brats bullying you. Ugh makes me sick."

"Maybe I shouldn't have brought them up yet?" I nod. "Why don't we go for a walk outside to calm you down?" I sigh.

"Alright, come along Alister." He jumped down and I stood, he meowed pawing at my pants. "What is it? Do you want me to carry you?" He meowed again, and I smile. "Alright, just because I love you." I pick him up, Severus looks at me. "What?"
