A/N: This is after the final part of Crayons, Captivity and Carnage

Urdu smirked as she watched Sam practically skip to the next exhibit while licking her ice cream cone. Security had tried to stop her from bringing the treat in, of course, but a warning look from their vampire had ended any questioning by the museum's security staff. Timothy hadn't even needed to use his powers of persuasion. His appearance and that damned enticing growl was enough to frighten most humans into submission.

Following the worrying attack on their mate by the hunters of this realm, both Tim and herself had decided to have a day just for Sam. In exchange, they'd made Samantha promise to wear the bracelet that Urdu had given her which helped the demon keep track of the witch's emotions and whereabouts. Their witch had resisted, saying something about how the feelings told her that she was going to go some places that her mates didn't need to know about.

Sam's words worried both her vampire and Urdu, and the demon again got the distinct impression that their witch knew more about what was going on in the grand scheme of things than even Lucifer himself. She wouldn't tell them any more, though, but after some intense prodding, they'd convinced Sam to agree to ignore the feelings, just on this issue.

Initially, for her special day the witch had wanted to do exactly what Urdu expected: go to the mall, visit a pet store to look at the animals, get ice cream, but the last stop had surprised the demon. Her witch had wanted to go to a "good" museum.

Urudu didn't know if the museum they were in was "good" or not, but she grinned as she watched Sam stop to talk to some very bored looking kids about an exhibit over the Mississippian culture. After a few minutes of her gesturing excitedly and almost dropping her ice cream in the process, both the kids and their parents were giggling with the witch.

Beside her, Timothy snorted in amusement as Sam crouched down and pulled out a marker so that the kids could sign her cast. She'd been getting people to sign it all day, and by this point, Urdu was hard pressed to see the electric pink of the cast under all the black signatures and well-wishes.

"I sometimes wish I was that good with people." Timothy murmured absently.

Urdu looked to him and smiled, "I love you just how you are, Timothy. You're deliciously growly and aloof but capable of being sociable, too."

He quirked an eyebrow at her, "You really like it when I growl?" On the surface, it seemed like an innocent question, but the look and the tremor of excitement she felt coming from the vampire told her it was more than just a wholesome inquiry.

In response, Urdu offered him a wicked grin as Sam rejoined them, distracting them both.

"Ok! On to the next!" she said while licking the remainder of the ice cream from her fingers, "Let's go."

The next exhibit was about life in colonial America, and Sam eagerly walked up to a recreation of colonial stables, complete with a fake horse and antiquated farm implements. "Oh, Urdu look," She pointed using her bad arm.

"What is it, Samantha?"

"See those tong looking things on the wall?"

"Yeah..."

Sam turned to her, delivering a brilliant smile that threatened to make Urdu's heart stop. "They're sugar nippers."

Tim walked up to Sam's other side and grabbed her good hand, using his thumb to toy with her bracelet as he spoke, "We used those in my time, too. Man, I haven't seen those in ages."
