Just some more build up.

The room that they had just entered was a room of unimaginable size and proportion. Matthew was almost completely certain that it would take him almost an entire day to even come close to an accurate estimation of just how big it was. The room it’s self however did not seem very spacious though. Unlike the rest of the facility, which was neat and tidy, this room had random papers, which were strewn about the place like they were not of any use anymore. The other reason why their labs were not very neat in appearances at all was mostly in part to the pipes, and conduits which protruded outward from wall to wall. It gave the place an untamed look to it. The place looked like it had seen much better days, but quite frankly looked beyond repair, which was probably why no one was trying to clean the place up, it was just a lost cause to try and clean the labs a bit. The mess really made Matthew loss respect for the place, but not nearly enough for him to want to stop working there and just leave outright. Aside from the clutter, and litter coating the floors, along with the pipes and other technology’s messing the place up, the lab actually seemed nice. The lab had one major path way going down the lab length wise, which branched off to evenly spaced glass rooms lining the walls to either side. On the far side of the lab, Matthew could barely see sealed doors, set into the far side wall. He assumed that that was where they kept the things which they would be studying. Judging from the heavy security he could assume that quite possibly everything that they kept locked up was dangerous in some way shape or form.

The rooms which lined the walls to either side were mostly just rooms with a bunch of computers, and monitoring equipment with glass walls. But a few of the rooms had chemical tables where some scientist were, from what Matthew could see, mixing a variety of chemicles and possibly trying to develop some kind of an interesting thing which would probably not intrest him in any way. Some of the other rooms had what appeared to be operating tables which didn’t surprise Matthew at all considering he had seem a room much like those earlier on. While some of the other rooms had some kind of unidentifiable devices, and others were rooms with walls which were not glass. Matthew didn’t have a clue what those rooms could be used for, but he also found that he had a lack of concern when it came to that. Out of sight and out of mind. Plus he was sure he would be far too busy to really even need to know what would be in those rooms. Though the unconscious part of him simply didn’t want to know what was in there. After hearing about humans being used as experiments he was left with a lack of curiosity when it was about that place. It was mostly that he was just afraid of what he might find in those rooms.

Matthew looked back at Otto who was now smiling with obvious pride. It was kind of annoying to Matthew, but yet he found himself smiling too. “So what do you think of this place Matthew?” Otto asked enthusiastically.

“I don’t know Otto. I only just got here.” Matthew felt that he was on the verge of letting out excited laughter.

“Well what do you think so far?”

“I think so far that this is a very interesting place that I would actually like to work at. I think I am probably going to like it here.” Matthew could feel the grin growing across his face. It was obvious that Otto was getting excited at Matthew’s happiness. Matthew felt that Otto was a very happy man anyway.

“So you would actually like to work here?”

“Yes I would.”

“Despite any things here that may be considered wrong?”

“Yeah despite all of that stuff too.”

“And this is also including the fact that working here pretty much means that your life will be in danger almost all of the time?” Matthew visibly frowned at that. He was pretty sure that his life was going to be in danger after he heard about what he would be studying, but hearing the information coming from someone else did nothing to calm his nerves. But it also did not scare him off. He pulled his grin back up, which was enough of an answer for Otto. “Are you absolutely certain?” He asked once more, for dramatic effect.
