The Date

Peeta's POV

Finnick has layed out clothes for me and I have layed out clothes for him.

I wear a plain white t shirt with an unbuttoned t shirt over it, and burgundy chinos. I also wear a burgundy beanie and black converses.

Finnick wears brown chinos, a grey jumper shirt, a black beanie and red converses.

Me: Hey babe, me and Finn are ready, just text us when you're ready.

Katniss ⭐: Okay gorgeous.

"So I'm taking Annie out for dinner after the film so we probably can't leave until 11." Finnick tells me.

"Yeah, okay. I was gonna take Katniss out too, but I don't want to ruin anything for our 3 month anniversary." I say.

"How would you ruin things?" Finnick asks.

"Well I have arranged a special weekend over our anniversary and I just want to tell her but I can't." I reply. I really do want to tell her now but I can't because it will ruin the suprise.

"Awh, so sweet! I wish I did something like that with Annie. Instead I just took her out for pizza. I'm such a bad boyfriend." Finnick genuinely sounds really upset.

"No you're not Finn. You were only just 15. Anyway. As long as she knows you love her, it's alright." I reassure Finn.

"Yeah I guess. I still feel bad about it though."

I do feel sorry for Finn. He rushed into it too quick with Annie and he blames himself every day. Finn accidently got Annie pregnant and Annie didn't realise but then she got a miscarriage. It was really devastating for them but the worst part on their half was that they were kinda glad they had the miscarriage because you can't exactly care for a kid if you're barely 15.

My phone buzzes.

Katniss⭐: We're ready 😘

Me: We're coming now 💕 xx

Minutes later me and Finn knock on Annie's door.

"Hey guys." Katniss says when she steps out of her room. She kisses me passionately on the lips and I sneak my hands around her body.

My Katniss.

She looks so beautiful tonight. She wears a baseball jacket, a tight blue tank top, demim shorts and blue converses. Her hair is down and it flows over her shoulders. She wears more eye make up than usual which makes her grey eyes pop. Her lips look so soft and they have a slight reddy tinge to them.

"Peeta?" Katniss says to me.

"Woah. Sorry. You literally took my breath away." I reply honestly as I put my hand on her back when we start to walk. I see her face turn red in the moonlight.

"I love you." She tells me.

"I love you too." I tell her back.

When we arrive at the cinema we walk to the reception to get some food and drink.

"Katniss, what do you want?" I ask Katniss.

"A popcorn and slushie please." She says.

"Two popcorns and slushies please." I tell the cashier.

A few minutes later she returns with our stuff.

When we get into the screen and take our seats, I notice that we came a bit too early.

"I guess we got here early." I tell Katniss.

"Yeah." She replies.

Then people start piling into the room and we easily have the best seat of all.

Half way through the film, I pretend to yawn and put my arm over Katniss' shoulder. I notice Katniss let out a smile.

She places her hand on my leg. I just want to kiss her but I'm too engrossed in this movie - it's actually really good.

I have also noticed that the boy looks a lot like Finn. He's watching a film with the same actor in it aswell.

When the film's over Katniss says

"So where are Finn and Annie?"

"Oh they're also going out for dinner - which is pretty convienient seeing as I booked us a table at a restraunt." I reply.

"Peetaaaaa! If I knew we were going out for dinner I would've dressed smarter!" Katniss exclaims.

"Don't worry babe. Anyway it is your birthday." I tell Katniss.

Something clicks in her mind. Did she forget her own birthday? Oh Katniss.

"Oh... I must've forgot..." She says and starts to turn bright red.

"Good thing I remembered then!" I remind her. "Now come on we have to get there by 9."

When we arrive Katniss' eyes light up. I've decorated our whole pod with balloons and banners. On the table lay a card.

Katniss starts to read the card. Tears start to pour from her eyes. She turns to look at me in the eyes and smiles.

"All this for me?" She asks.

"Anything for my girlfriend. I'll love you always. I'll never leave you. If you want me I'm there and if anyone dare hurts you then I'll hurt them. You cry I cry. I love you, Katniss." I tell her. I start to cry myself somewhere along the line.

"Peeta, I love you too. Never forget." She tells me. Then I kiss her passionately on the lips. But with this kiss I feel something deep in my heart.

I feel like the happiest guy alive.
