I don't know what happened after that, because the next thing I know I'm walking through the rain towards the boy's building.
The cold rain hits my face which doesn't seem to numb the pain in my body.
What's actually wrong with me? I was fine earlier - now I just feel nothing but pain.
I push open the door for the boy's building and start making my way up the stairs.
In almost no time at all, I'm stood outside Peeta's door, thinking about whether I should talk to him or not.
I finally decide to knock on the door.
After a few seconds of shuffling about, I see Peeta's face.
"Hey baby!" He exclaims.
He pulls me into a hug.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
I burst out crying.
"I... don't know." I reply.
He pulls me inside the door and closes it behind me.
"You don't know." He says.
I nod.
"Well, I've been really super angry lately at stupid things and I hate myself." I say between tears.
"But that's normal, everyone gets angry. And please don't hate yourself, there's nothing to hate. You're perfect in every way possible and don't you dare think for one second that you hate yourself." Peeta says.
He lays down on the bed and pulls me down with him, so I lay with my head on his chest.
"I've really messed up." I say.
"How?" Peeta asks.
"I basically had a go at Madge just for talking to Gale, I don't even mind that they're talking. Just baby, please help me. I don't know what to do with myself." I mumble.
"Do you recon this has anything to do with your parents?" Peeta asks.
I think. Madge is the only thing I have left that reminds me of that night. I think I'm afraid of the past catching up with me.
"I do." I say. "I think I'm afraid that because I saw Madge that night I'm afraid that my past will catch up with me."
"Sometimes we have to embrace what has happened. But the past is in the past, and no matter what has happened, it can't be changed. But you will see your parents again. I'm sure of it. And I'm not religious or anything but I really do believe in Something." Peeta says.
"Okay. Thanks Peeta." I say.
"You wanna stay with me tonight?" He asks.
I nod. I don't think I should be left alone at a time like this, I don't know what I'll do.
"Okay, I'll go get your pajamas and toothbrush." Peeta says.
He gets up and walks to the door.
"Be back in a minute." He says before walking out of the door.
I embrace the smell of Peeta's bedding.
I wrap myself in it like a cocoon.
I love the smell of Peeta - cinnamon and a tiny hint of mint. It calms me down.
I hear the door open again after a few minutes.
"I'm back." I hear Peeta say.
I unravel myself and stand up.
He hands me my pajamas and toothbrush and I walk into his bathroom.
I brush my teeth and wash my face. God, I look rough.
I take off my clothes and slip on my pajamas.
I walk back into the room and throw my clothes down onto the floor beside the bathroom door.
Peeta's already changed into his pajamas.
I slip under his duvets and join him.
"You know how to make me feel better." I say.
Peeta chuckles.
"I'd do anything to make you feel better." He says.
I was just falling asleep when a knock at the door startles us.
"Hello?" Peeta calls out.
"Sorry it's late, but I just got a phone call for you." Effie says. "Can I come in?"
I look at Peeta.
It's against the rules for girls to be in boys rooms.
I hide further under the covers.
"Um yeah." Peeta says.
I hear Effie step in.
"It was from the suit shop. The only available colours they have are orange or green." She says.
"You came here to say that?" Peeta asks.
I can't help but giggle - it escapes my mouth.
"What was that?" Effie asks.
"I-I don't know." Peeta stutters.
"Is there something you're hiding from me, Peeta?" Effie asks.
"No." Peeta replies almost immediately.
Oh no. I feel it coming. I. Need. To. Sneeze.
All of a sudden a loud "Achoo!" escapes my body.
I feel the quilt being lifted off my body.
All I see is a startled Effie.
"Uh... hi." I say.
"You're not supposed to be in here. You know that." Effie says sternly.
"Please Effie let Katniss stay. We're not gonna do anything. We was asleep until you came." Peeta begs.
"I don't know..." Effie says.
"Please." I say.
She looks at the both of us.
"Ugh. Okay then, but this is a one off. Never again." Effie says.
Peeta pulls the quilt back up over us.
Effie walks over to the door, opens it, and walks out.
I can't believe that just happened.
But I have no time to observe what actually did happen, because before I know it I'm fast asleep.
